WASHINGTON -- The co-author of the best-selling book "Unfit for Command" says today's statement by a Chicago Tribune editor and former swift boat commander does not substantively contradict his findings about John Kerry's Silver Star.
William Rood, 61, said he decided to break his silence today about the Feb. 28, 1969, mission because recent reports of Kerry's actions in that battle are incorrect and darken the reputations of veterans who served with Kerry, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune.

Looks like Reuters is misinterpreting the news again, namely Rood's statements. Why don't they just go out and say that they support Kerry and declare themselves part of his campaign?

Wonder what this "new" witnesse has settled for, Sec. of Agriculture and/or. Lets see him defend Hanoi John of being used by the NVA and VC as a traitor. The real words are THERE! The EVENT of Kerry being there, is there! He (Kerry) sold the US out in time of war! HE did that and no GD Lawyer can erase the physical facts any more than they can for Jane Fonda. What legal right did he have to visit North Vietnam? None! Therefore he is a criminal, since he broke that law. Lets HANG the SOB!!!!!!
I can't help but wonder if the American people can choose a CIC unless he is a moral, reprobate?

I may not read well, or my comprehension may be poor -- BUT, what I just read intimates to me that Kerry lied. Duh!

It's cool, let the Kerryoids keep fighting against the first ad. They're a bit behind the curve. The second ad hits him even harder.

I read that the 3rd one will go deeper into the POWs/MIAs and show he met twice w/the N Vietnamese while official negotiations were ongoing and while Kerry was still reserve.
We only have until September 3, so I bet they come fast and furious. Withering fire, if ya know what I mean. < g >
