Since this story has broken, there has been some serious questions about the veracity of these claims. I'm posting this to show that the story is a total fabrication and has direct ties to none other than John Kerry.
A volunteer for John Kerry said Friday he picked up a flier in a Bush-Cheney campaign office in Gainesville, Fla., promoting Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, a group the Bush campaign has insisted for weeks it has no connection to.
Bill Shilling, a Kerry volunteer in Gainesville, says he went to the GOP offices there Thursday and picked up the flier from a pile of literature on the table.
"The flier they gave me was on the same table as some Bush-Cheney bumper stickers," said Shilling. "I asked them if the Swift boat veterans were coming to Gainesville, and the woman I talked to said yes."
Shilling said he went back to Kerry headquarters and turned over the flier.
"I thought there was supposed to be some separation between Bush-Cheney and the Swift boat controversy but I didn't understand there was a big deal about this," said Shilling. "I think this whole thing attacking Kerry's war record is a diversion by Bush-Cheney from the real issues of the campaign."
Emphasis Added.

So, this person, Bill Shilling picked up copy of the flier at GOP HQs. I want to repeat something very important, "I thought there was supposed to be some separation between Bush-Cheney and the Swift boat controversy but I didn't understand there was a big deal about this".
That seems like he wasn't really aware of the magnitude of this, right? As if it was "news to him", right?
So, who is Bill Shilling? Is it possible that Bill Shilling is just a volunteer who stumbled onto this flier?
That would be quite a find for the Kerry campaign, wouldn't it? The so-called "smoking gun" just laying around?
So, who is Bill Shilling?
Bill Shilling
After going on active duty I successfully completed basic artillery officer training at Fort Sill. I was assigned to the 2nd Battle Group, 31st Infantry Division, Fort Rucker, Alabama. As a first lieutenant, platoon leader, field artillery, our unit was responsible for training light-wing aircraft crews and helicopter crews on observing artillery fire. My three years in the Reserves came before I was commissioned and were served in Lakeland, Florida, in an MP unit, reaching rank of corporal. Three of these four years were concurrent with my four years of ROTC at Florida Southern College. After I served my two years of active duty it became clear to me that the military would not be an appropriate career for me. I like to think for myself, and I work very hard at whatever I do. I learned that in the military working hard didnt pay off. It was better as an officer to just stay in the background with as little responsibility as possible and to stay socially connected. I was prepared to fight for my country if my country was truly threatened, but not interested in Vietnam. After my active duty service became an anti-war activist and a supporter of the Civil Rights movement based in Atlanta. I respect the US military and those who serve, but not in the ways those in ultimate authority use our military to promote the interests of American corporations and to extend the empire.

So, as it turns out, this "flier find" was found by a member of John Kerry's advisory board.
Also, I would like to point out that the flier was found on Thursday, August 19th. It was found the day after John Kerry crewman, Del Sandusky, spoke in Gainesville (at the Unified Training Center, 809 W. University Ave, Gainesville, Florida; August 18th, 7:00-9:00 PM).
Is it possible that Mr. Sandusky and Mr. Shilling shared their frustration with the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth the night before? Is it possible that Mr. Shilling took it on himself to plant this flier?
Some very interesting questions. I will wait for the media to start turning the focus back onto the Kerry campaign and, once again, its decietful tactics in this campaign.
Here it is for convenience... http://www.allveteransforkerry.org/Advboard.htm
The Kerry crew is directly linked to this flier business. Get details here.
Certainly sounds like he was snooping around looking for something to complain about. Meanwhile, has Kerry ever made his medical records public?
He said in an interview that people could come by his campaign headquarters and see them.
Someone from the MoveOn PAC became a worker in the Kerry Campaign back in May and the Democrats act as if they have not coordinated strategy (which would be illegal).
Great work, matt.
This is THE reason I love FR.
also, on the other thread that shows a picture some Kerry supporters allegedly took of a window for the GOP HQ in Gainsville, has a copy of the flyer posted in the window. The problem is, it looks to me as if the flyer in question is actually taped to the OUTSIDE of the glass, not the inside of the glass, like the other large poster. Planting false evidence?? You look, you decide.

Jeez, like the flier is supposed to be some kind of smoking gun.
Am I not allowed to talk to a Swift Vet if I've donated/worked for the Bush campaign (which I would never do)?
I tried your link but it requires registration and I refuse to do that just to read their lousy article. Has there been any questions about the flyer asked of the Bush-Cheney campaign office in Gainesville, Fla., and if they know anything about it's appearance at their office? It wouldn't surprise me if the press hasn't asked them since they always seem to cover just one side of the story.
I'm not in Florida, but is this, "flier found at GOP headquarters," a big deal or something? If I ran a GOP office, I would have 'Swift Boat Veterans for Truth' fliers all over the windows. It wouldn't mean that I or the GOP have anything to do with them - - it would only mean I like them for having the guts to expose Kerry for the fraud he is. Big deal.
I question the timing of this?

BTTT!!! Great work! Send this thread to Kelly Wright at Fox News. He's the one who has been doing all the reporting on this matter today:
Fox & Friends Saturday, 8/21/2004 Aprox 8:40 AM
Kelly Wright, reporting from D.C. on the Kerry campaign's FCC complaint filed against Bush/Cheney, accusing them of coordinating with the SwiftBoat Veteran's ad campaign, says this [excerpted and transcribed by me from my videotape]:
"The AP reports today that a volunteer for the Kerry campaign says he picked up a flier in a Bush/Cheney campaign office in Gainesville, Florida.
Now that flier, according to this person, promotes a weekend rally by SwiftBoat Veterans for Truth. The Kerry camp says the Bush/Cheney campaign was busted for coordinating in their smear campaign against John Kerry.
A Bush/Cheney campaign spokesman says he doesn't know how the paper wound up at a county GOP office used by Bush/Cheney volunteers.
He does say, however, the campaign would immediately object to any such flier being displayed at any Republican Headquarters."

I thought the DNC and MoveOn.org were sharing a lawyer. This is worse?
I'm stuned. Yeah, maybe Clinton took money from the Chicoms and the monks, but thats nothing compared to a flier found on a table in Florida.
Sounds something like the couple that was just driving around in their car and happened to pick up a phone conversation .. Hmmmm??
No, but the dork brigade is trying to make it look important. It's an attempt to link Bush to the SBV's.
As if the country were deaf, dumb, and blind to MoveOn's aid to the Democrats. DUH!
Seriously. The left just keeps digging that hole deeper and deeper. They're bias is now naked, and everyone is staring right at their shame.
He din't even have to "plant" the flyer. All he had to do was SAY that he found it there, when, in fact, he just made it up.
