Michelle Malkin, the unfortunate and overmatched author of a self-loathing book that attempts to justify our World War II internment and robbery of Americans of Japanese heritage, became the harbinger of the next mucky smell of low tide. She raised the story heretofore consigned largely to Robert Novak and everybody to his right in that delightful, Teflon way of modern politics: Im not saying that John Kerry shot himself. But in the Swift Boat Veterans book, they ask whether or not his wounds were self-inflicted.
If Ms. Malkin isnt seen on television, or moving on her own power, in the next few days, its understandable. My colleague Mr. Matthews forced her to hang herself out to dry ten or eleven times (never prouder of you, Chris). He may have directed the momentum, but her wounds were ultimately, uh, self-inflicted.
As Chris rightly pointed out, nobody has produced an iota of evidence that John Kerrys wounds were anything other than the result of combat. Even in the book, the references to it are speculative and without provenance. Ms. Malkin wouldnt even go so far as to attribute the suspicion to herself. It was in the book.

Olbermann's show is terrible. MSNBC should put Pat Buchanon in the 9pm time slot and put Steve Malzberg against Bob Beckel in the 8pm time slot.
It was mighty RACIST for olberman to describe Michelle as "self-loathing" because she defended japanese-american internment during WWII. did anybody catch that?
Olbermann is now claiming that he never called Malkin an 'idiot'.
I distinctly remember him making some smart ass remark when the show opened that included the word idiot.
I've checked the transcript and there is no record of the opening remark, just his standard opening, "Which of these stories will you be talking about tomorrow?".
In his blog, he says that he went and checked the transcript to see if he called her an idiot and of course couldn't find it. This gives him an out when he's caught.
Did any Freeper waste video tape on this loser?
He's likely under contract and since they know he doesn't have an audience, they know he can't do much harm.
I don't think we'll see him after this year. Of course, we may not see MSNBC after this year. That is such a pathetic network.
I heard it immediately when I read it. Hell Keith, those slanty eyed Asian folk all look alike, don't they.
What a prick he is.
More people will see this thread than see his show.
>>>> field a new candidate and do it quickly!
Unless his name is Zell Miller, we will destroy him too. It's beautiful.
>>>> did anybody catch that?
That is a huge stretch. You will miss the real bias and hate when you start looking for it in the tiniest of details.
I just saw one replay tonight where he said she "made a fool of herself" (which, of course, is stupid), but did not use the word idiot. However, I don't know if what I saw was what you are referring to. You could have seen a different part that he didn't replay for obvious reasons.
My wife hears "concepts" in her head sometimes and not words when she is listening. I might say "putting stress on that board" and she might later say that I said "bending that board," or something like that. It is possible that MM "heard" idiot when he actually said "fool..." The later is a bit more benign, though in this case it is basically the same since she was repeating what hasn't been refuted.
Tonight Olbermann got a Vietnam vet to speculate on whether John Kerry inflicted a wound upon himself. This guy wasn't in Kerry's outfit (that I heard), so how would he know? Does Olbermann really think Americans can be fooled by an opinion of someone who wasn't there over an observation of several that were?
As I read the transcipt, it was Matthews who said that, putting the words in her mouth.
He replayed the video tonite. His statement about Michelle was how she (in his words) "made a fool of herself". So he is correct, he didn't use the word idiot.
Keith, I haven't read the book either, but does the word "ricochet" mean anything at all to you? I mean - you know - just to get the discussion started.
And besides she's Filipino.
I saw that replay also, and that was not where I heard the words.
The spot I heard was right after Matthews signed off and they bumped into Countdown. It was the very first words out of his mouth and he may have even thought he was off mike.
