FORT WAYNE, Ind. A white powder spilled from a bag being unloaded at the Fort Wayne Airport (search) Wednesday morning, making at least one airport worker ill and forcing the closure of the airport.
The bag was being unloaded from an American Eagle (search) flight from Chicago, airport spokeswoman Sandra Lux said. She said the bag belongs to a doctor from Beirut, Lebanon, who was not on the flight.
One worker became ill after coming in contact with the powder and two others complained of severe itching.
The airport terminal was shut down and all fights were delayed after the 2 a.m. incident.

Ft. Wayne Int. Is a very small international airport, if shenanigans are afoot, it would make a soft, but some what insignificant target.

My guess it would not be a target. The substance spilled and was discovered. How many bags go undiscovered is the question?

A small amount of anthrax flicked in the air in-flight would contimate the air in that flight and many others before it was discovered.

Oh, was it to go on from there? or was Ind. the final destination? what do you think? perhaps a rogue baggage handler was able to put it on?
To: TBall
Awesoem point and a good question. Makes you wonder if maybe the next leg of the trip would be to NY by car.
To: Lady GOP
nothing to see here, move along, go out and buy a new car and vote for Kerry, move on, blah, blah, blah
To: Conservative_boy_in_Bangkok
It seems very suspicious that the contents spilled open with no passenger...as if it was meant to. They are attempting to contact the passenger a doctor from Lebanon but maybe the person doesnt exist.

Since the good Doctor was NOT on the flight, why were his bags not removed per STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES?

Oh so there is a mid east connection. Huge surprise, must be one of the one or two bad Muslims out of the gazillion good ones that only want peace and love. I hope they can trace it back to Iraq so we can shove it Kerry's...

Can anthrax in this powder form result in inhalation and cutaneous ..? One worker was ill and the other 2 developed a rash.

Can anthrax in this powder form result in inhalation and cutaneous .If it was weaponized any exposure to air would unloose particles.
To: Lady GOP
She said the bag belongs to a doctor from Beirut, Lebanon, who was not on the flight. How on earth are the bags of a doctor from Lebanon traveling around the United States unescorted?!
To: Lady GOP
On my part pure speculation, but there's probably some Syrian, non-us citizen working at O'Hare who left it on there. Affirmative action in action.

Sounds more like that iching powder you can buy as a gag gift at Spencers.
