BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- An Iraqi peace delegation has returned to Baghdad after radical Shiite Muslim cleric Muqtada al-Sadr refused to meet with them in battle-torn Najaf.

The Iraqi leaders had gone to Najaf in hopes of ending nearly two weeks of fighting between al-Sadr's militia fighters and a U.S.-Iraqi force.

C'mon, Mr. President... Let the Marines get rid of this insignificant louse! He stinks, and he's making us look like Clinton-era wussies.

Yesterday I was gaming online with my pals. First thing one of them said to all of us was "my son in law got killed in Iraq at that cemetary". Even though it was over the internet, it hit home pretty good. I think it's time that we quit putting our troops in danger by restricting what they can do, bomb the mosque, and build a walmart on top of it. The thing that impressed me the most was that even in dealing with the death of his son in law, he said "I'm about ready to go over there myself".

Al-Sadr is a terrorist.

Exhorting other terrorists to attack fuel convoys and kill soldiers and civilians is terrorism.

We shouldn't be negotitating with a terrorist.

We should waste him.

As long as the Iraq Governing Council chooses to appease 'strongmen' like Zarqawi and Sadr, our troops will be forever placed in no-win situations where they are sitting ducks for assassins.

Since we are infidels, it is ok for us to die in the greater cause of Mohammed-strongmen-worship. Elections or not, the next Saddam is not far away from happening. Didn't Saddam himself get 100% of the vote last time?

If we choose not to win these battles against thugs, then we should leave and let the Iraqs appease them to their hearts delight. It is their country--let them have what they want. They cannot have the deaths of our soldiers.

I have a feeling we're letting the Iraqi's do it their way.

Could be they want Sadr to be able to save face for future debt,

and are allowing him to puff up a bit before he surrenders.

I agree. Send an air strike and then turn the Marines loose!

Sadr is going to wish that he surrendered to the US. Hope the Iraqi's make an example out of him.
