Vote for Vernon Robinson ¨C the NRA PVF Endorsed Candidate
FAIRFAX, VA -- In recent radio spots, mailings and on her website, Virginia Foxx incorrectly states she is the National Rifle Association (NRA) endorsed candidate in North Carolina¡¯s 5th District Congressional race. The truth is the NRA PVF has endorsed Vernon Robinson for the 5th District.
Robinson, the son of a Tuskegee Airman and nurse, graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a B.S. in Middle Eastern Affairs and the University of Missouri with an M.B.A. Proudly serving his country as a Missile Combat Crew Commander and Intelligence Officer in the Air Force before becoming a business professor at the Winston Salem campus of the University of North Carolina, Robinson supports the right of all law abiding Americans to keep and bear arms. His strong belief in the 2nd Amendment has earned him the endorsement of NRA PVF.
On August 17, Vernon Robinson will face Virginia Foxx in a runoff contest for the Republican nomination in the 5th Congresssional District of North Carolina.

5th Congressional Candidate:
Foxx Falsely Claims
Gun Group ¡®Endorsement¡¯
In a recent radio interview and most recently on her web site, US House candidate Virginia Foxx claims she has been endorsed by North Carolina¡¯s most influential state-level gun rights organization, Grass Roots North Carolina.
Foxx¡¯s claims are false:
¡õ GRNC does not ¡°endorse¡± candidates. Instead, the GRNC Political Victory Fund, GRNC¡¯s registered political action committee, makes recommendations for effective gun rights voting strategies.
¡õ GRNC-PVF recommended Vernon Robinson, not Virginia Foxx for Congress in the 5th District. In a mailing of The GRNC Activist to members and supporters, Vernon Robinson earned GRNC¡¯s highest 4-star evaluation and recommendation as a likely leader for gun owners in Congress.
In Foxx¡¯s own words: ¡°The Big Lie¡±
Ironically, the radio spot in which Foxx falsely claims the GRNC endorsement is titled, ¡°The Big Lie,¡± supposedly pointing out lies propagated by Robinson. In reality, the biggest mistruth in the ad seems to be spoken by Foxx herself.

Need this info out to everyone on those ping lists!!!!! The election is TUESDAY!!!!!
BTTT for Robinson!
BTTT
bump
The article has no links to the NRA endorsement or to the email.
If you get the admin moderator to fix the link, then I'll ping everyone. Right now, it will just cause an unproductive "bruhaha".
This has all happened so fast. I have the statements, but they have not posted them on either the NRA or the GRNC websites. Literally this happened at 11 AM eastern. phew.
It should be up on both sites soon. I am quite certain that either organization will be more than happy to verify their press releases in the meantime. Soon as I get a direct link, I will let you all know.
I can also email you privately their statements that are on their letterhead, etc. (In fact if anyone wants them, freepmail me with your email address and I'll happily email them to ya!)
Ok, friends. Here is what has transpired.
On Friday, the Robinson campaign received word that a direct mail piece from the Foxx campaign had dropped along with a radio ad claiming that the NRA and GRNC (Grassroots, North Carolina -- a gun rights group) had endorsed her, not Vernon Robinson.
The Robinson campaign knew that GRNC does not, in fact, make "endorsements", only "recommendations" and that Robinson had received the four star "recommendation."
In addition, the Robinson campaign knew that as a rule, the NRA stays out of primaries and remains neutral.
So the Robinson campaign called GRNC and Cong Bob Barr (who has endorsed Robinson and is an NRA board member) called the NRA. Both said that indeed, they were NOT endorsing Foxx and they would send statements to that effect for a press conference today (Monday morning).
The Robinson campaign received the GRNC statement (see above) and DURING the press conference this morning, the statement from the NRA came over both the fax and via email. The statement from the NRA was handed to Vernon Robinson in the middle of the press conference - and suffice it to say, neither Vernon nor anyone on the campaign was expecting an endorsement from the NRA, only a statement refuting Foxx's claims.
When press started calling the NRA about the endorsement, it turns out that they did not mean to endose Robinson (even though their statement shown above CLEARLY endorses Robinson) and are calling it "a clerical error." But they stand by the statement that Foxx is indeed not endorsed by the NRA and are remaining neutral in the race.
I know that is a long explanation -- but I wanted to make certain that there was full disclosure and no mistaken impressions here.
Darn it all.
RKBA ping!
RKBA ping!
RKBA ping!
Good luck to Mr. Robinson !!
This will help Robinson, especially in the rural areas of the disctrict.
I wish he was in my district. We are stuck with the bird brain David Price.
