Kerry: I Wouldn't Respond to Nuclear Attack
Newsmax ^ | 8/13/04 | Carl Limbacher

John Kerry told Democrats gathered in Boston two weeks ago that he defended his country as a young soldier in Vietnam and he would defend it again as president.

But as Michael Dukakis' Lieutenant Governor, Kerry authored an executive order that said the state of Massachussetts would refuse to take part in any civil defense efforts in response to a nuclear attack on America.

The presidential candidate was an ardent proponent of the nuclear freeze at the time, and viewed Cold War civil defense preparations as an attempt to delude the American people into thinking a nuclear exchange was survivable.

Lt. Gov. Kerry's executive order on behalf of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts read in part:

"Whereas the existing and potential strength of nuclear weapons is such that nuclear war can neither be won nor survived, it can only be prevented; and Whereas the only effective defense against the horrors of nuclear weapons lies in their elimination and in the prevention of nuclear war or attacks, [the Commonwealth of Massachusetts] shall seek to ensure the safety of its citizens by pursuit of policies reflecting a serious commitment to prevention of nuclear war."

"Such policies," the Kerry directive continued, "shall include education of citizens concerning the real nature of nuclear war and efforts to influence national policy towards negotiation of an end to the nuclear-arms race."

The Kerry order stated emphatically, however: "No funds shall be expended by the Commonwealth for crisis relocation planning for nuclear war."

Monica Conyngham, Lt. Gov. Kerry's spokeswoman at the time, defended the controversial document, telling reporters, ''We believe that (evacuation) plans are absolutely futile and that there are no safehavens from nuclear war.''

Gov. Dukakis signed Kerry's "no nuclear defense" executive order into law on June 28, 1984.

If there was a Nuclear attack on US soil, the American people would demand a response no matter who was president.

The Chinese are probably getting their missiles ready as we speak (more accurate thanks to Clinton) and contributing cash to the DNC.

Kerry WOULD respond. He would attack any state that
supported the GOP with nukes to protect his Islamic and French allies.

WOW! Is that instructive as to Kerry's mindset or what? He's one of the nuclear-freeze wackos.

What would he do if a suitcase nuke was lit off in an American city and the culprit could be tied to a particular country? Respond with sensitivity and understanding?

It comes down to .. who do you trust with your life

Sen Kerry or President Bush

I'll take President Bush any day

I'm sure if Al Qaeda detonates a nuclear weapon in an American city, John F*ckin's excuse for not saving American lives is we can't prevent a nuclear attack. Well, he wouldn't defend us from the Soviets. He wouldn't defend us from terrorists today.

If America was to have another 9/11 attack, Kerry would immediately demand the UN host a PEACE conference whereby all the grievances of the terrorist would be aired (at the US Taxpayers expense of course). Next he would turn around and APOLOGIZE for all the evils that America has done to the poor Muslim/Arab world for allowing Israel to exist.

Also, he would impose a $900 Billion tax on Americans in order to pay for Reparations to dis-enfranchised muslims who has suffered emotional damages for having to endure seeing and hearing about America's involvement in the middle-east.

John Edward's and his lawyer friends will of course be handling the behind-the-scenes legal wranglings for the usual 40% fee; but of course this is 'Totally Legal' because there is 'No Legal Authority' in these matters.

Kerry is looking for Utopia. Not much of a realist. Get rid of all bad things and the way to do it is "say it should be done".

We'll always have war. We'll always have poverty. We'll always have unemployment. Problems don't go away, only their intensity changes.

Fortunately, the majority of us are optimists doing what we should be doing!!
