Doha Al-Jazirah Television in Arabic at 1124 GMT on 12 August carries the following "urgent report" as a screen caption:
"[Iraqi National Security Adviser] Muwaffaq al-Rubay'i heads for Al-Najaf to mediate between Al-Mahdi Army and the interim government."
Further as warranted.

I hope he's too late.
LOL, so do I.
No negotiation; kill them all. Drain the swamp, cull the herd.
"[Iraqi National Security Adviser] Muwaffaq al-Rubay'i heads for Al-Najaf to mediate between Al-Mahdi Army and the interim government."
NO! Enough talk!
Notice how these "moderate" Muslims always stand ready to bale the rabid ones out of trouble? We shouldn't let this clown into town.
If indeed he is coming to town, he will have pretty good credentials for coming in...after all he is the Iraqi National Security Adviser.
Hmmm...I seem to be experiencing a bout of deja vu....
Who is this guy?
al-Rubay'i are you contemplating
Going out somewhere
The shadow on the wall
Tells me the sun is going down
Oh al-Rubay'i
Don't take your love to town
Hopefully he will use a "donkey" cart as his mode of transportation.
The only acceptable response... Unconditional surrender! They come out naked, lie down in the dirt, and they all go to prison for treason against the Iraqi government. That includes Al Sadr, if he doesn't commit suicide like Hitler did.
I was looking for something a little deeper. Is he a friend of the coalition? A troublemaker?
