My stepmother has alzheimers and my father takes care of her at home. She's been a guinea pig of sorts for various meds to try, none of which will reverse or even retard the natural progression of this horrific disease. To give people false hope with regard to stem cell research is both unethical and hurtful to the actual sufferers and their caregivers.

I'm thankful our First Lady (and she IS a lady!) is sharing about stem cell research flaws/lies.

Yep...but the RATS have a history of playing to the fears of the most vulnerable amongst us (i.e. telling retirees that the GOP wants to take away their Social Security).

God Bless your Dad. He has taken on a huge responsibility, though I'm sure he doesn't look at it that way.

My Daddy had been dead 15 years before my Mama was diagnosed with Alzheimer's seven years ago. She refused to live with any of us, so the first four years we were able to keep her in her home because we had a lovely woman, Mary, who lived with her. She didn't need nursing care, just someone to watch her, make sure she remembered to eat, bathe and not wander off. We had to put her in a nursing home the last three years because she needed more medical care than Mary could provide. Fortunately, it was a very nice place and the staff liked her.

Three weeks ago she died peacefully, in her sleep, and we were so thankful for that.

I'll keep your Dad and your step-mother in my prayers
