John Kerry: Hunter, Dreamer, Realist (Kerry in WaPo on Cambodia in 6/03!)
Washington Post Sunday, June 1, 2003; Page A01 ^ | 6/1/03 | Laura Blumenfeld

And who is he, really?

A close associate hints: There's a secret compartment in Kerry's briefcase. He carries the black attaché everywhere. Asked about it on several occasions, Kerry brushed it aside. Finally, trapped in an interview, he exhaled and clicked open his case.

"Who told you?" he demanded as he reached inside. "My friends don't know about this."

The hat was a little mildewy. The green camouflage was fading, the seams fraying.

"My good luck hat," Kerry said, happy to see it. "Given to me by a CIA guy as we went in for a special mission in Cambodia."

Kerry put on the hat, pulling the brim over his forehead. His blue button-down shirt and tie clashed with the camouflage. He pointed his finger and raised his thumb, creating an imaginary gun. He looked silly, yet suddenly his campaign message was clear: Citizen-soldier. Linking patriotism to public service. It wasn't complex after all; it was Kerry.

Talk about unstable!!! This is a classic case of wanabe - the question is who or what!

John Kerry and bill clinton are examples of what happens in a disfunctional family. Do we need another billyboy?

This is the thing that bugs me about Kerry the most: Even though I was born in 1968, I've known lots of Vietnam vets through the years - teachers, pastors, bosses, co-workers, etc. And none...I mean NONE of them brag about their service in Vietnam like this scumbag does.

Kerry was in-country for 4 MONTHS, so spent only ONE Christmas over there.

HE COULD NOT HAVE MIXED IT UP WITH ANOTHER CHRISTMAS.

The memory that was "seared - seared into his memory" was a total fabrication.

He lied about where he was on Christmas 1968.

He lied about saying Nixon as President lied about where he and other soldiers were on Christmas 1968, since Nixon wasn't even the President on Christmas 1968 (inaugurated in January 1969).

He lied about being shot at by drunk South Vietnamese celebrating Christmas in Cambodia on Christmas 1968 - they are mostly Buddhist and don't celebrate Christmas.

He lied about saying he didn't say that he was in Cambodia on Christmas 1968.

The lies are so convoluted and twisted, he has spawned a new pretzel named in his honor - The Kerry - soft, twisted and half-baked.

The thing is this aspect of Kerry's war service - his chronic and repetitive story telling and outright lying - is showing a deeply disturbed mind. I've known so many men who were in Vietnam who'd never think to make up a wild tail like this and their stories couldn't be proven wrong. Kerry must have not realized there is more media now than the Liberal media that adores a Liberal regardless of whether the Liberal lies or the Liberal is contradictory. In fact, they love those Liberals who lie all the more. But Kerry's clueless if he thinks this is still the same country where the Liberal News media monopoly hadn't been broken.

And we need to have a CIA agent in the picture. Perhaps CIA agent Ho Chi Mhin.

I appreciate your comment so very much. You bring to the table the very core of the issue with Kerry.

Most of us who did some heavy lifting during those years would like to take the "lessons learned" and move on with our lives (and those of our grandchildren). *S*.

I have known persons of Kerry's ilk before. They wear issues on their sleeves, but when you peel away the cover, what we usually find is man most uncomfortable with himself -- insecure, egocentric, and prone to pathetic self-aggrandizement.

Kerry and all he stands for is beneath contempt, IMHO.

Cheers.

Those who talk the least have generally done the most. (And vice versa.)

Well, since it was physically impossible to get a swift boat into the canal to Cambodia, I guess this story is ALL fiction, as well. (from an article by Byron York on NRO)

"It was physically, totally, categorically, across-the-board impossible to get into the canal that went to Cambodia with a swift boat," says Gardner. "There were concrete pilings that were put in the water...plus, the Navy kept patrol boats there to make sure nobody went in. When I was on the 44 boat, it was a physical impossibility to take a swift boat into Cambodian waters."

Over the years, Kerry has said on a number of

I think that I have a new nickname for Kerry, Walter Mitty. Instead of John F'n Kerry, he is now John Walter Mitty Kerry.

The movie Love Story was about Algore and his wife. So, I guess Rambo was all about Frenchy Kerry.

I think that CIA agent must have been part of the cast of Apocalypse Now, and the secret mission was to kill Marlon Brando.
