"It is well established that the First Amendment allows for restrictions on "time, place, and manner". I expect these troopers would have dealt the same way with an anti-war group's truck bearing graphic images of the mangled bodies of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq."

These cops set themselves up as judge and jury. Escorting someone to the stateline???? Apparently they didn't even give them 'til sundown.
As agents for the government would you call what these cops did "shrinkage" or "not shrinkage". Gee, let me think about this for a minute.

State and local governments are within their rights to enforce basic community standards for public behavior. If they see a man walking down the street rubbing himself in an obscene manner in front of young girls, they don't need to let him keep on doing it until he's been tried and convicted by a jury. They can haul him in on the spot and let him plead his right to "express himself" in court at a later date. Same deal with these out of state activists.

So, you'd prefer we allow our police no discretion, and set up like Virginia has done---requiring an arrest to be made in domestic dispute calls?

No thank you.
