As Mary K. Letourneau leaves prison tomorrow, she faces registering as a Level 2 sex offender, a court order to stay away from the student she was convicted of raping and the renewed glare of media attention from all over the world.
....
Letourneau's friends, lawyers involved in the case and officials at the State Department of Corrections say they've been fielding daily telephone calls from the "Today" show, "Oprah," "Primetime," "Inside Edition" -- even a British magazine and television stations in France and Germany.
....
And Vili Fualaau -- the former student who fathered two children with Letourneau before she was sent to prison in 1998 -- has gotten himself an agent.
....
Fualaau's mother is bringing up their daughters, who are now 5 and 7.
....
Letourneau's first four children live with her ex-husband, Steve, to whom she was married when her illicit relationship with Fualaau began. They are now 10, 12, 17 and 19.

I care far more about the children she left behind, than about the trivial "rape" charges. No one ever talks about the moral crime she committed against her husband and children.
Teenagers (male) of the world REJOICE!!!
lock up your 10 year old boys
No one ever talks about the moral crime she committed against her husband and children.
Nope, no sensationalism to that aspect of the story. These kids are probably in a living hell with all the national attention this is getting.
And, this kid gets an agent? Money to be made here for this guy.
Truly a hell on earth. I pray for them.
They're all going to appear on TV and write books now.
The first husband and four children moved to Alaska, if I remember correctly. He tried to keep them far away from her and from the media glare of her trial.
I don't know why we as human being need to feel inadequate just because someone said we were. I, quite frankly don't know what he's feeling, but if he's crawling around in a deep depression in his life, he needs to seek help, otherwise, he should just forget about her, carry on with his life, and remain happy.
Word is she's immediately flying to Iceland to see if she can turn over a new Lief.
I give up, which one's the teacher, and which is the student?
When they come of age, I'm sure they'll realize just what a sick twisted pervert their mother was. Until such time, I will pray that these kids go through their childhood like any normal kid does, enjoying all that is that is a part of childhood.
How can the court demand they don't see each other when the are both adults?
G R O A N
Her four children she had with her husband will be more scarred emotionally than her young male paramour ever will be.
That website makes her out to appear like a daggum victim! It's sickening.
Oh, of course, I realize this.
Well, it says it's a condition of her release, so, she signed off on it. 'I will do this if you let me out.' Kind of have her over a barrel on that one. She will be a parolee for three years.
This woman served her time, but she is getting out with no remorse, and now she is free to start over again. I fear we have not seen the last of her crimes. I pray I am wrong.
The only thing I can think about is how many more children's lives will she destroy before she satisfies her sick needs?
