Glory Days Are Here

Posted on 08/02/2004 8:31:40 PM PDT by SamAdams76

So as I posted a day or two ago, John Kerry has virtually no bounce from his convention and is, in fact, well ensconced in George McGovern territory (who had a negative three point convention bounce).

Now some some might come here and bicker that because it is such a polarized election that there was comparatively very few undecided that could swing either way. Ok, but 46-47% is 46-47% and that isn't going to win a general election where there is no strong third party candidate.

The fact is that the DNC convention was to be the high-water mark of the Kerry campaign. This was where he was to soar 10-15% (maybe even 20%) over President Bush.

Instead, after the much-ballyhooed Democratic convention, Kerry is running either about even or several points behind.

Folks, this election is over.

I mean, where does Kerry gain ground from here? He has already picked his running mate (one of the Breck girls). He's already had his fancy-schmanzy convention. Let's face it. Kerry is an elite Massachusetts liberal. He's a gigolo's gigolo (dumping a wife worth a quarter billion for a wife worth at least three times that amount). He's a phony. He's a dork. Above all, he's a horse's ass.

And his wife! She makes Hillary look like Betty Crocker for crying out loud. I mean Teresa Heinz is one creepy broad. I mean, if she was hired for The Exorcist, the director wouldn't need special effects for her head to turn around if you know what I mean.

So what was Kerry's "jump the shark" moment? Take your pick. There was a thread by P.J. Comix about what it could have been, and it quickly ran out to almost 200 replies.

I say it was when Kerry went to give his acceptance speech at last week's (didn't it seem much longer ago?) DNC convention. There he gave a salute and said "John Kerry reporting for duty".

Are you kidding?

Reporting for duty? This from an absentee senator who missed nearly 90% of his votes this year and missed a vast majority of his various committee meetings! What nerve. But the Bush campaign did not miss this beautiful clip that they will be sure to use in campaign ads later on this year. Imagine campaign clips showing the dorking Kerry giving his salute and saying "John Kerry reporting for duty" and then going through the laundry list of all the votes and committee hearings that he has missed! Then top it off with a short clip of Kerry roller-blading or biking or skiing at one of his (or rather his wife's) Colorado ski resort mansion.

Yeah, it seems that Kerry doesn't have the time in his busy schedule to do the job that he was elected for in Massachusetts. But he doesn't seem to miss a chance to mix with the beautiful people on Martha's Vineyard or at the ski resorts in Colorado.

These fall ads are going to be DEVASTATING!

We are talking possible 1972 election results here. You heard it here first. All the Bush campaign has to do is take full advantage of the opportunities being handed them by this pompous jackass.

Compare for example, Laura Bush to Teresa Heinz.

Need I say more?

Now the Republican convention is coming up and President Bush will have the last word after that nonsense in Boston last week.

The Democrats had, among other "luminaries", Al Sharpton, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, and the pathetic Ron Reagan Jr. speaking at their convention last week. Yikes! What Marxist scumbags. No wonder people were tuning out.

By comparison, the Republicans will have Rudolph Guiliani, Arnold Schwarzenegger, (Democrat) Zell Miller (who will be endorsing Bush), George Pataki, Lt. Gov. Michael Steele (R-MD), Senator Elizabeth Dole (R-NC), and many other first rate people speaking at their convention.

And this will all take place in the Big Apple. New York City. On the eve of the 9/11 anniversay.

What a gutsy move! Having the Republican convention at the epicenter of 9/11 close to the anniverarsy of the infamous terrorist attacks. And in hostile (Republican) territory to boot! Imagine if John Kerry and the Democrats had their convention in Houston, Texas! Now that would have been a gutsy move. But the Democrats aren't gutsy people. They had their convention in Boston. The place where queer marriage was first legalized. In other words, a friendly place for Democrats.

The fact that President Bush actually got a bounce out of the Democratic convention speaks towards a landslide victory this November. Now some naysayers might say that President Bush won't get much of a "bounce" out of the upcoming RNC convention. But I say "Bully" to that. Bush WILL get a HUGE bounce out of the upcoming RNC convention. Imagine the convention in NEW YORK CITY! Imagine the ELECTRICITY that will be in the air! Imagine the fine speakers that we will have

But real Americans like Arnold Shwarzenegger, Rudolph Guiliani, Michael Steele, Zell Miller and George W. Bush.

Get ready Freepers. The DNC convention is now in our rear-view mirror. The high-water mark of John Kerry is already past. The ascendency of President George W. Bush has only just begun. The gloves are coming off and John Freaking Kerry is about to be eviscerated. The show is on. Kerry and his freak show are going down. The future is so bright that we need to start wearing sunglasses from here on out.

Over and out.

The major failing of the Democratic convention is that JOHN KERRY HAS STILL NOT DEFINED HIMSELF! Most americans still have little idea who he is or what he beleives. This was his chance to do so... he's in big trouble.

Folks, this election is over.

Garbage. This election will be contested until late October. Trends will become clear at that time. Until then, this is Bush's to lose and that is a very real possibility.

Bush must raise the bar. I'm awaiting his bold nature to translate itself into campaign action.

Folks, this election is over.

I disagree.

Electorally, it's Kerry's to lose. Bush is uphill all the way. Forget the polls.

The major failing of the Democratic convention is that JOHN KERRY HAS STILL NOT DEFINED HIMSELF!

He defined himself three and a half decades ago as a traitor. It's just he dares not say that at the convention; it doesn't appeal to swing voters.

The only reason I hear coming out of dems mouths for electing skerry is that he is not George Bush.

They have nothing!

I just hope to God that people are honest with themselves when they vote.

If they are we will see 4 more years of sucsess

I just posted a note about the pollster Rasmussen on O'Reilly tonight. Did you happen to catch him? He said it wouldn't be close and that if things went fairly well in Iraq, Bush would win. I turned it off before he was done talking so don't know if he called a spade a spade and said Kerry was an empty suit and ohmygod how did the RATs pick such a loser, but O'Reilly was managing to keep a straight face when I hit the remote. How long before the press begins to panic? We know Kerry's camp is already mixing koolaid, and how long before Hill gets the call to ride in on her white horse to save the party from humiliation?

Well, Bush is an adult who's not afraid of hard work. Clearly Kerry has avoided even the pretense of work and responsibility all his life. The differences between the two men couldn't be more stark.

You know...I've been hearing about "Hillary coming to the rescue" so much this year that I'm about ready to toss the contents of my stomach into the yard three stories below.

It aint' going to happen.

Hillary is about the most unelectable candidate (on a national scale) has there has ever been. I was practically praying that Hillary would steal this convention from Kerry (as many Freepers were predicting) so that I could sleep easier at night knowing that Bush would win in an epic landslide.

But alas, it did not come to pass.

But on the upside, John Kerry is one of the worst candidates in the history of the Democratic party. He is a disaster. And an effective Republican campaign will easily tear him to shreds and eviscerate him.

Kerry has a real problem. Every time he appears and opens his mouth, the voters see him and dislike him. What's he to do? His surrogates have been out stumping for him for months with the line that America really doesn't know him, but they will during the convention. Now we have the convention organizers screaming that the way they hold these affairs has to change. Translation: This was the worst convention in history. Candidate assumed room temperature once he opened his big mouth. Today he says doesn't bother with polls. Why? Because the polls are devastating, and the mayor of St. Paul (democrat), took a reality check and just came out for the President. If this trend continues, with more democrats acting like adults who care about their country more than their party, then it will be a long three months for Kerry. Someone posted that it was a death by a thousand cuts, and they're right.

Sooner or later Hillary will have to test the waters. With her ego, it's a done deal either this year or in four, and I agree, she's a hard sell. But if the RATs come to the inevitable conclusion that they're going down in flames with Kerry, will they beg her to save them now? And would TerAYsa allow Kerry to be dumped? Wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall in any one of her mansions? If we see campaign staff changes in the next few days, we'll know the you know what has hit the fan, big time.

I largely agree.

Absent a truly major and unlikely Bush failure - dumping Cheney, going soft on judges, etc - he is on pace to a roughly 10 point, 35-40 state win.

Bush has been savaged for four years, and pretty much everything that can be used against him has.

Kerry, OTOH, has had singularly positive reporting and has yet to face the inevitable Bush campaign ads.

*We* know Kerry is a self described war criminal, one of the most leftwing senators, has promised to raise taxes, and has about the same level of charisma as fellow Bay States Mike Dukakis but most voters don't...yet.

So, Bush is as low as he can go in the high 40s, and frankly it is hard to see Kerry going anywhere but down now.

The question at this point is what if any coattails Bush will provide *when* he wins.

Your darn tootin' it will be a landslide for Bush. The two Johns big hair will come in handy when Bush mops the floor with both of them :) Finally they will have been to put to some good use!!

I've been wondering if Kerry will appoint Hillary to a cabinet position, if elected. He still owes the Clintons, big time, for their help in fundraising and, so far, we haven't seen the payoff. If this should happen, it would keep Hillary in the public view, and she wouldn't have to worry about running for re-election against (hopefully) Guiliani.
