A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Welcome to TGIF at the Finest!   We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. If you missed seeing any of this week's threads and want to say hello there now, just click on the link for that particular day. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today through Sunday, please feel free to do that also. One of us will try to be around to see the welcome mat is still out, put the coffee pot on, and maybe even bring fresh flowers for the table. : )

I watched the convention for the last four nights and definitely was not impressed for several reasons other than the fact that I am conservative.

1. What their platform is - I never heard a clear cut idea of what their expectations for the next four years are other than to get the President out of office and the Republicans out of Congress. Hope is out there? Where?

2. To see what Teresa had to say - which wasn't a lot except for one thing - being an American is something to be proud of, something to work for everyday, that Americans are lucky to have the freedoms that they do. That is paraphrasing from an interview that she had, but it stuck in my mind.

3. What is with Edwards tongue - reminded me of a snake - flicker, flicker, flicker. It was a distracting habit during his speech and the only thing I remember from his speech is "Hope is out there". Where?

4. Kerry? Harping on his Vietnam service. What happened to the boat crews? All of a sudden they are standing with him? Several weeks ago they were against him, including the man whose life he "supposedly" saved. He did make one comment about the '60's that stood out in my mind - "We thought we could change the world and we did and we are still trying." Some of us just went about it differently, didn't we?

Do you believe the following, especially the second paragraph!!

(Columbia) – According to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission, Inez Tenenbaum’s Senate campaign has accepted a $1,000 check from Barbra Streisand. Streisand is a well known ultra- liberal activist famous for making disparaging remarks about Republicans and President George W. Bush in particular.

Chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party, Katon Dawson said, “First, we learn Tenenbaum was praised by the Communist Party as an “exciting candidate” then we find out the Pro-abortion group EMILY’s List has raised over $415,000 for her campaign. Now we discover her campaign is being backed by one of the most far-out, ultra-liberal musicians of our time. Tell me…just how is this supposed to help her “independent” campaign in South Carolina?”

Good morning, Billie. What a great graphic this morning. I didn't watch either of the dim dems make their speeches. Thank goodness for baseball.

I haven't posted much this week as I can't sit at the computer too long, but I had to reply to this.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Missed you to Billie! Running my mouth on other threads, taking care of this and that here at home and you know - six things here, a half dozen there and they just seem to add up to "Oh, my gosh, where has the time gone!!"

I know. Their insistance that they are going to be rolling back the "tax relief" on the wealthiest people in the country is going to go over like a lead balloon with especially since that can't seem to explain how that is going to help with the deficit.

The loopholes that they say they are going to close are just going to open others.

One America = no poor, no middle class, no wealthy, hmmm, gee, isn't that the mantra of the communist countrys - everyone is equal? Except for the ruling class, that is?

Hi sistah billie and finest friends...Rusty update...He's on his way to the airport in LA. We pick him up around 8:30 tonight. There's a layover in Milwaukee...if, for some reason, he's delayed and misses the flight the airlines will "put him up" in a "doggie hotel" until Monday when the next flight comes to Ohio. They assured me it's a "lovely place".

Did I tell you my family thinks I'm nuts! Most expensive pound puppy we'll ever get LOL!
