Foxx is now furiously trying to compile a conservative vote record. Prior to her ambitions to federal office, she was a Carter lackey who supported special gay rights, abortion on demand, the ERA, racial quotas, and 100 tax hikes. The ACLU gave her a "perfect" rating.

63% of those responding to the survey think that Foxx should carry on with the runoff.

The poll is unscientific and is open to voting by Democrats and Republicans. The Democrats would love a runoff between the Republicans to give their congressional candidate a "leg-up", just as Republicans want Ralph Nader on the ballot of all 50 states for the presidential race. The runoff is only 2 1/2 months before the general election and doesn't help the Republicans one bit.

I'm not worried about a Democrat winning the general election. I'm just worried about the Democrat winning the primary runoff.

I'd say Foxx has little chance of winning. While Robinson's adds were a tad on the ugly side (I have come to develop a strong distaste for local politics), I doubt he loses this one.

Foxx did better than she otherwise would because several candidates split the eastern side of the district, while Foxx was the only candidate from the western end. She drew the vast majority of her support from that area (where she currently serves). She hasn't demonstrated support from outside of her geographic base and now there's nobody to dilute Vernon's support.

When I met him (at the NC homeschool convention) he said it was "a four way race for second place" behind Broyhill. Instead, he outperformed expectations (we weren't sure he would even make the runoff).

Foxx should drop out for the good of the party. This is just a waste of time and resources.

N.C. Candidate: Pakistani a 'Terrorist'

.c The Associated Press

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A Pakistani man charged with immigration violations after filming Charlotte skyscrapers is described as a ``terrorist'' who came to the country ``to kill you'' in a new television ad from a North Carolina congressional candidate. Vernon Robinson began airing the ad days before his runoff election Tuesday in a Republican primary against state Sen. Virginia Foxx.

Kamran Akhtar, arrested July 20, has been in custody ever since on immigration charges and on charges he made false statements to officers.

Authorities say he also videotaped buildings in Dallas, Houston and Las Vegas, and an investigation into whether he has ties to terrorism is ongoing. His family has said Akhtar is a video buff.

Akhtar's attorney, George Miller, called the political ad ``grossly unfair.''

``We haven't even had a probable cause hearing,'' Miller told the Charlotte Observer. ``There's been no trial. There's been nothing.''

Stricter enforcement of immigration laws has been a central issue in Robinson's campaign. His new ad shows a picture of Akhtar.

``When Vernon said our unguarded Mexican border was a threat to our national security, the liberals laughed,'' an announcer says in the ad. ``They're not laughing anymore. This is Pakistani terrorist Kamran Akhtar. He got arrested videotaping targets in Charlotte, North Carolina. He came here illegally, across our Mexican border.''

Then Robinson speaks: ``I'm Vernon Robinson and I approve this message because Akhtar didn't come here to live the American dream. He came here to kill you. In Congress, I will shut that border down.''

Robinson doesn't apologize for the ad.

``If it quacks like a duck and we're in war time, I think it's a fair assessment,'' he said. ``He wasn't a tourist (and) wasn't here to study architecture.''

Foxx is a pro-gay, pro-abotion-on-demand, open-borders, self-described "feminist" RINO phony . She will lose on Aug 17.

Ugly? Please explain in detail. Seems you are mistaking bold self-promotion and satire for something else entirely.

I made no mistake. He clearly violates the 11th commandment on a regular basis. Most of the candidates who lost in the original primary have endorsed Foxx. Not because of her views, but because of how poorly Vernon treated them in his adds. Frankly, we've got a lot of conservative candidates down here, and while Foxx is clearly LESS conservative (and unacceptable to me), she is not a "liberal".

The definition of "ugly adds" is when you stick your opponent's picture up next to Hillary and say "there's no difference".

"Self promotion"??? He has run almost no adds talking about his resume and/or experience. Almost everything is about how liberal his opponents are.

And understand this is coming from a BIG Robinson supporter. I've contributed to his campaign (and voted for him) and prefer him over all of the people he ran against.

I just hate local politics.

I suspect that once he's won, he will reserve his bomb throwing for the other party and will not draw primary opponents. I guess the time to mend party fenses is AFTER you win.

There's not much. Both are radical open-borders, pro-gay, pro-homosexual, anti-family, welfare-plantation rulers. I mean what the hell is a Republican doing associating herself with CPA?

Then again... posting pictures of Virginia Foxx or Hillary Clinton sure is UGLY campaigning, literally.

Robinson is a genius at self-promotion. (What else is politics other than self-promotion? How else does a guy beat back a squad of multi-millionnaires whom the liberal press loves?) How can you hold that against him. But he is quite qualified: USAF intelligence officer, A Business professor at UNC-WS, undergrad in Middle East studies, Winston-Salem city council, NCGOP vice chairmanship, filed the lawsuit to end racial preferences in UNC college admissions, defended the Boy Scouts, radio show host.
