I smell Islamic justice - ping!
If we ended (Read: wasted) more of them, others would be more willing to offer information. The rest would get panicked, and make mistakes in their rush to take actions, and be easier to nail.
Two words: Overwhelming Force.
Thanks. Yup, they need a spell checker.
"Is the goal here revenge, or victory?"
Do we have to choose?Ok,both.
Stir the baby food first? What would that do? I don't get it.
rinolic acid is a chemical term that tells you what has happened to the rinicin. Something like it is in an unsaturated fatty acid form.
The seals used to be the same as the normal seal attained by following normal canning practice with Mason jars. The cap is placed on while the jar's hot and when it cools, a vacuum seal obtains. Is that the way they still do it?
Ricinoleic Acid is found in castor bean oil.
Whoa... Terrorists contaminating baby food? This is getting serious... Hey! Let's go ride bikes!
Does she have a good job?
I don't see why the same heat process that causes Mason jars to seal wouldn't work for baby food jars.
Careful, it can be dangerous around here to 1) Carefully read the story, and 2) think logically.
Ricin is extremely easy to make in the sense that almost anyone can concentrate it SOME. A variety of domestic lone nutjobs have used or attempted to use ricin.
The other thing about Ricin is it's extremely similar to a lot of natural substances, including wheat products.
Basically, it appears the whole Capitol Hill thing was bogus, but that it was was swept under the rug to avoid embarassing the Senators who claimed they were attacked, and, of course, everyone has forgotten it. The French subway "ricin in a locker" turned out to be a jar of wheat germ.
I guess to find the note??? At first I thought it was HORRIBLY irresponsible. (well...it actually is).
I followed the link at the top of this page, AND did a Google search...here's an excerpt from ABC7.com
"A father told police he found such a note concealed in a jar of Gerber Banana Yogurt.
According to the missive, the food was contaminated. The writer also made reference to an Irvine police officer, the same as an earlier note did, Lt. Jeff Love of the Irvine Police Department said at the time."
....and
"Each time, the note in the jar was wrapped so it wouldn't get saturated by the food, Love said. He said the wording in both notes was also the same, and that police believe both cases are linked."
Who KNOWS what's going on. I distinctly remember that second dad saying he was AWARE of the threat and HAD been checking each bottle for that seal to unpop.
rinolic acid
If u goog it u get a spelling correction 2 ricinoleic acid
Ricinoleic Acid, also called castor oil acid, belong to a family of the unsaturated fatty acid. It is a viscous yellow liquid, melting at 5.5 C and boiling at 245 C. It is insoluble in water but soluble in most organic solvents. It is prepared by the hydrolysis of Castor Oil. It is used in textile finishing, in coating, inks and in making soaps.
I tried goog the word + poison ingestion, etc but have to leave for church.
It does not seem to me that something used for the items above would be anything a person would want to ingest.
How in the world it ended up in baby food jars I'd like to know.
Since we never know who's reading Free Republic...
"Anyone with more information about the case is asked to call Alan Vanderpool, district attorney supervising investigator, at (714) 347-8736."
You really should provide a link and attribution when you post someone else's material.
Thanks. I did it at first because I just didn't see the point in spending 50 cents a jar for baby food, when it's "strained peas" - why not just smash up a bunch of peas? Or heck, put'em in a coffee grinder - ta-da, you've got strained peas!
I even get my eggs from a friend, and they are just 'yard eggs'.
