I can see an Edwards-Obama ticket coming up in 2008. Maybe we'll need to run Rice on one half of the ticket ourselves.

Obama is an intelligent and remarkably unbitter liberal with a good ear for verse and values. I think it is wise to kick around long-term strategies regarding this phenom. There is nothing that can or should be done to neutralize this man personally. And conservatives may welcome some of what he brings to the mix; it is better for the republic that the opposition party grow out of its current childish tantrum.

Note Obama's pedigree. What was he, editor of Harvard Law Review? This means he is a true believer. He is a good person, but his politics are toxic. I think the primary long-term antidote is to keep politics honest, while avoiding the appearance of demonizing. With subtlety, neutralize the concept of stealth liberal candidates.
