A little tidbit I'd like to point out. During the Illinois primary season, there were 4 or 5 candidates running with Barak Obama in the democratic primary. The frontrunner was a rich guy, I believe named Blair Hull, who was running ahead of the pack. Suddenly, Blair's divorce papers were outed stating that he had hit his wife. Obama denied any involvement in the outing of this information, but outed it was. Blair plummeted in the polls, and Obama, who had been running second was suddenly catapulted into first place, and went on to win the democratic primary. Jack Ryan won in the Republican primary. Now it was Obama vs. Jack Ryan in the general election. Now, and once again, Jack Ryan's divorce papers were outed, with Obama once again claiming that he had nothing to do with it (the Chicago Trib sought the divorce info through the courts, and got a liberal judge in California to release them). Ryan ends up quitting the race because of the outing of the divorce papers, and Obama is now the only candidate in the race for Illinois Senator, and it appears will win due to the lack of a viable Republican substitute candidate (Mike Ditka turned the opportunity down). Therefore, twice, because of divorce paper outings, once with Blair Hull and once with Jack Ryan, Obama has gained first place status and will most likely, barring any fluke, become the Illinois Senator to fill Republican Peter Fitzgerald's seat.

Now, with Blair Hull's outing, you could call it as just a lucky break for Obama. However, along comes Jack Ryan, and the same thing happens. You can call this coincidence, but in politics, I don't believe in coincidence. I see the fine hand of Barak Obama and his henchmen, facilitating the information leaks of the dirt on both Blair Hull and on Jack Ryan. After all, who benefited most by both of these "coincidences"? Obama. He, of course, has plausible deniability, but I'm not buying it. I smell another Slick Willy in the making. Don't you agree?

I don't know anything about the Hull divorce story, it might just have been a baseless allegation against him from a nasty ex, but with Ryan, he had full control about going to sex clubs. It's the price Republicans pay for not properly vetting their candidates BEFORE a primary.

I agree with many here that Obama looks like a threat, but what will bring him down is "native" African-Americans who will be sour about Obama reaping the benefit of all the affirmative action they think is supposed to be payback for their ancestors' suffering from slavery.

Sure would like to hear Obama talk about reparations, wouldn't you???!!!

The problem with this theory is that the timing is wrong. Obama, who had been catching up to Hull for weeks, made massive gains after the Dem debate on February 23, besting Hull by about 19 points. Hull's divorce records were unsealed in early March.

Obama, it should be noted, was also not the machine candidate. That was Hynes. And who won in Hynes own ward? Obama, 2 to 1.

It's not dirty tricks that's propelling this guy, it's politics.

And one more thing about Jack Ryan. The problem wasn't that his files were released. It's that everyone knew what was in them, everyone knew they were going to be released, and yet he kept on insisting to the public and the party that there was nothing embarrassing in them. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I have very little sympathy for the guy.

Based on the initial information you have provided I would say he does bear similarity to Clinton.

That is why conservatives need to react rationally. We were given a gift. Obama could have blindsided us a few years down the road. Instead the Dems tipped their hand now. It is time to analyze how Clinton rose to power. To study the ineffectiveness of the attacks against him, and formulate a strategy to neutralize Obama.

Hysteria is a hindrance to that mission. It would only lead to furthering his political rise. I'm not worried at the moment for precise reason we have time to counter the threat.

Touche. I also found it odd, to say the very least, that both Blair Hull and Jack Ryan had their divorce records - which are supposed to be protected by the liberals' most sacred constitutional right, the right to privacy - outed. My guess is that Obama is well connected within the leftist legal establishment in this country, no doubt thanks in part to his being an affirmative action darling of Harvard Law school.

Can Kerry's divorce papers (re: Julia Stimson) be published likewise?

Who does this young man know down in divorce records. Some lower level paper pusher or legal beagle? There is a story in here somewhere. Dirty tricks are dirty tricks.
