You can't let this thread die in it's 20s. It's just plain cruel! Help me out folks.
Consider doing a "Compare and Contrast". Montreal's subway system? Clean and well-lighted. London's Tube? Is it still filthy doity? :o)

You'd have to ask a Brit, or someone who travels frequently.
According to my father, the Montreal trains are very good, but he hasn't been back since the early 70s, so it might have changed since then.
I really don't know.

The trains and platforms of the really busy lines like District were not as clean as the less-busy lines like Bakerloo and Victoria.
