WASHINGTON - An upcoming report will contain "a good deal of new information" backing up the Bush administration's contention that Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) pursued weapons of mass destruction, Senate Armed Services Committee (news - web sites) Chairman John Warner, R-Va., said Tuesday.
The administration cited Saddam's hunger for such weapons as a main reason to invade Iraq (news - web sites) last year.
"I'm not suggesting dramatic discoveries," Warner told reporters, but "bits and pieces that Saddam Hussein was clearly defying" international restrictions, "and he and his government had a continuing interest in maintaining the potential to shift to production of various types of weapons of mass destruction in a short period of time."

I wish that they would list the French sold equipment in one of these reports.

Initially the report was expected to be done this summer, but instead it will come out in SeptemberMake it the last weekend of October, and I'll be satisfied.

Gee! It's only July! Do you think they can find more in August, or September? How about a nice October Surprise? Hee! Hee!

About a week ago a freeper on some thread said Karl Rove said recently some good stuff would be coming out in the next month. I think they were on one of those conference calls.

We already knew most of this after Kay's testimony/preliminary report of the ISG last November (?) but the media chose to ignore it.

I won't be happy until the U.S. fingers the Syrians for hiding away the bulk of Saddam's WMDs.

Why is it I think Clinton is somehow behind this so that it will be Hitlery in '08?

Excellent point. There is already evidence to show Saddam had the infrastructure, the expertise, the growth media and the precursor chemicals, and the will to have an active WMD program. The problem is, the media ignored it. All they gave attention to was Kay's off the cuff comment that there probably weren't "stockpiles" of WMDs in Iraq.

The RATS are pissed about the timing of the release.
If I had my way they could have waited a week or two. But the RATS that leaked figured best to come out before the convention.

I think when President Bush wins by a landslide, cleans all the Clinton leftovers out of the State Department, and deals with Iran and North Korea, Hillary won't have a chance in '08. This was Hillary's best chance and even the staunchest of libs knew she would be doing good to get 100 electoral votes. I want Hillary to run in '08, that would be the deathblow to the Democratic party that has been coming since they named Peloisi(sp?) as the House Minority Leader.

Which talking head idiot was it that said GWB had already captured OBL but would not announce it until just before the election?
