July 20 (Bloomberg) -- Halliburton Co. contributed $1,000 last year to the re-election campaign of Representative Henry Waxman of California, the company's most vocal congressional critic, according to campaign records.
The Nov. 6, 2003, donation was made one week after Waxman accused Halliburton of overcharging the government on a multibillion dollar Army logistics support contract for Iraq. Waxman said Halliburton overpaid for petroleum products purchased from Kuwait and passed on the cost to U.S. taxpayers.
Halliburton has the largest number of Iraqi reconstruction contracts, worth about $5 billion. It was the Pentagon's No. 7 overall contractor in 2003, up from 37th place in 2002. Waxman also has highlighted Halliburton's ties to Vice President Dick Cheney, who was the company's chief executive from 1995 to 2000.
Hahahaha, who does their PR? $1,000? That's not obviously a token..
One more mention of Halliburtons 'excesses' in the media.. Only a matter of time before Cheney's doctor helps W win the election with a sad announcement..

Wow-they're not getting very much influence for their money, are they?
The $1,000 was for a new schnozz.
$1000 was just the amount made public...
A whole thousand dollars, eh?
That's not EVEN a token.
And the shock value of this is exactly what?
That Halliburton would exhibit the collosal stupidity of contributing even one dime to Henry "Nosehair" Waxman.
It is not uncommon for corporations to donate to both side, both candidates.
