Fahrenheit 9/11 - Republican Fundraiser? -- Vanity
July 15, 2004 | olde north church

Posted on 07/15/2004 8:31:46 PM PDT by olde north church

Would it be possible to rent a theater showing F 9/11 and charge maybe $100/ticket for a fundraising purposes?
Picture it:
Conservatives have a private screening room to yell at the screen without the worry of being thrown out. Moore might get his $.50/ticket but the Bush campaign or RNC gets $100.00 subtract the /seat charge. Energize the base.
The best part would be the splinter in his fat ass when he finds out his work is being used against him.
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade! Opinions?

You can also provide a lot of info on the lies contained in the film

Now, if only we could find a way to sue AFTER the movie and demand compensation for the time we lost viewing such ... (stuff)

They probably wouldn't let you do it. The distributor of the film would in all likelihood decline the request.

I would rather donate the $100 and pass. Not worth disrespecting the Air Force Major's family.

"A maggot that eats off the dead" – that's what the mother of a U.S. Air Force major killed in the Iraq thinks about filmmaker Michael Moore, who used footage from the man's Arlington Cemetery funeral in his anti-Bush documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11."

Air Force Maj. Gregory Stone was killed in March 2003 when a grenade was thrown into his tent, allegedly by Sgt. Hasan K. Akbar, who is on trial for murder.

"It's been a big shock, and we are not very happy about it, to say the least," Kandi Gallagher, Stone's aunt and family spokeswoman, told the Washington Times.

I would be more than happy to pay $100 to throw darts at pictures of the Dems though. Or archery. Or Rifle practice.

Conservative talk-show host Glenn Beck did something similar a couple of months back. He rented a theater showing "The Day After Tomorrow" (or whatever that stupid movie was called) and then passed out scripts for the audience to follow. It was kind of like Rocky Horror Picture Show, or something. That would be a fun idea for Moore's piece of crap. Nothing infuriates a liberal more than laugh-filled mockery.

For me, this is the only way I'd ever se this POS.

If I saw this in a theater 95% filled with dimbulb sophomores and Democrats, I'd be in mortal danger, for I am cetain I could not sit through the entire assault of lies without screaming out at least once.

That would be it for lil old me. I know what these animals are capable of.

Only if I get the profit from the sale of JuJu bees.

Love the reference to Rocky Horror, that was the first thing that came to mind. I, too, would only see if I could ensure I could throw, smell, yell, screem, laugh, and make sure there was plenty of press around to ensure the libs knew what was going on....

We could bill it as "Chunky Horror Picture Show."

I think I'll refer to it as Chunky Horror Picture Show from now on. Someone needs to write the script.

Okay, how do we make it so? Small theatre in heavy republican area. Maybe it could be done with people who were already prepared to make a $50 or $100.00 or more donation?
How about a theater near Moore, the war profiteer's hometown or perhaps a theater in the shadow of Fleet Center and coincide with DNC convention? That should get maximum coverage, comparison and contrast always work? Syncronized fundraisers would be even better. It's time we turned it back on them.

I was thinking the SAME THING!!!! How fun to throw popcorn at the screen...we can dress up as our favorite Libs...we can talk back to the screen!!!! And we can get some press and it might actually be fun!
