The left has been doing this for a long time. Until a few years ago, I lived near Columbia University, and "Palestine" was being supported not only by the Socialist Workers Party and other nuts who posted on street lamps, but by the professoriat and supposed moderates (this in a university that has a huge Jewish population).
Do you know how many buildings and wings are named after Jewish donors there? Many, plus these days Mid East studies there is dominated by Arab Muslims and leftists. A chair or two is funded by people who want Israel to disappear.
