Stalin was an inhuman butcher his whole life - just like every other one of the Soviet founders. The left constantly tries to lay the blame for Soviet communism's death toll on Stalin's supposed "insanity".
Lenin was no less the brute - he just died to early to kill as many as Stalin, and Trotsky was if anything MORE brutal then Stalin during his time under Lenin.
As long as the communist system was in place, tens of millions would have died no matter what.
Thank you. I would have posted the same thing if you hadn't. The Left is reluctant to even bad-mouth Stalin--I certainly didn't learn about his brutality in school--but they're quick to give him up in order to preserve the fantasy image they have of the Soviet Union.
Another lie they love: "The Soviet Union wasn't communism. Cuba isn't communism. They were and are a perversion of the glory of communism!" Right. Reminds me of people who say, "Communism sounds great on paper! It's just bad in practice!" I think it sounds bad on paper. I call people who say that On-Paper Communists.
Agreed. Stalin was a gangster whose utility was primarily robbing banks to raise money for the cause. About the only real work he ever did was in Baku in the oilfields and stirring up strikes. I read somewhere that Lenin, upon his deathbed, was asked who he would choose as his successor, the response was "Anyone but Stalin".
