Rush is a whack job. I would like to see him take his active imagination and correlate his on air views with the reality of himself being naked with the dog collar around his neck or the naked prisoner facing the snarling dogs. There is such a thing as humanity even in the treatment of the enemy.
It wasn't worse than college pranks. Its not in the same category as what Al Qaeda has done to innocents. And yet to hear the partisan media tell it, Abu Ghraib is the worst crime of the 21st Century. All Rush was saying look at this in proportion. There are abuses and there are abuses. No one was tortured and murdered by the U.S military. And those responsible for wrong-doing are being disciplined. For trying to make Americans see the big picture, Mike Farrell wants Rush booted off the armed forces network - even though its barely an hour. The Left can't stand seeing soldiers hear a different perspective. According to the Left, America is up to no good. America is worse than Al Qaeda and heaven forbid if our servicemen and women in uniform hear different.
Rush wasn't trying to say that the abuse wasn't a bad thing. Just that it was way hyped up and I agree with him on that.
You mean like hacking heads off?
This is a tough one.
Putting panties on their heads vs chopping their heads off.
Yep, I can see where you might be in a dilemma over this.
If you had actually heard what he said you wouldn't let your moral outrage work overtime. Fact is that the humiliations depicted ARE much like fraternity pranks. You probably have forgotten the incident not too long ago where girls covered candidates in feces and beat them up. Every year someone dies
during a fraternity initiation. All that is required is for there not to be an authority figure around to keep the natural sadism from getting out of hand. In this case, we have poorly trained guardsmen under incompetent commanders and juvenile imaginations unfettered by supervision. DO compare that with the footage of torture in the same prison while it was under Saddam's rule.
