Goya.
It works because we're here talking about it.
I think the guy who painted that has done some family portraits for the Clinton's, the Gore's and the Kerry's.

Well, it's too Gor-y for me. LOL
Blood libel worked in the Middle Ages, too.
Nope-I disagree.
It's just plain strange.
Well it's not chocolate box material -- but it's not supposed to be. Are you familiar with the Greek myth of Cronos devouring his children? I assure you, this painting drives home the concept of worldly impermanence in a vivid and unforgettable manner. It's not pleasant for a man to confront his temporal fragility, but surely there's some philosophical value in doing so.
Hyperventilating over accounts of blood libel is the new blood libel. Thanks for playing.
I suppose you are right, but it's still dark and foreboding to me. I don't go around wearing rose-colored glasses,to be sure, but I just can't see myself hanging something like this over my fireplace. It would give me nightmares.Besides, i've been a wing-nut for years, and I don't need to peruse such things to remind me of my "temporal fragility." Sorry, that's just my opinion. It gives me the creeps.Besides, all you have to do to confront man's "temporal fragility" is to pick up the newspaper or turn on the news...Plenty there for everyone.
I am astounded ....I like Serras sculptures....I hated that goya rip off piece ...I had no idea Serra did that ....I am disgusted...He demeaned Goya in the process too
