AfterActionReport-Operation Peace, Love, & Granola
07/01/2004 | Todd

This is an after action report for Wednesday, June 30. The evil forces of the International Answer gathered to protest what they called the "fake turnover of Power in Iraq." Even though this happened 2 days early, they still gathered.

We met up at the Montgomery St Bart station at 4:30 pm. It was a little early for many, but those who could make it did. The army of good included some Protest Warriors, some freepers, and some Pro-Israel supporters. We walked together to Union Square where we would encounter the evil "peaceniks." When we arrived, we took refuge in one corner of the plaza. We knew that when the answer folks cought wind of us being there, the crowd would come to us. At the beginning of the counter-rally, the news cameras came over and took a couple interviews. I got made the channel 7 news here in the bay area. The news lady had asked me about my feelings of Saddam going before the court in Iraq. I told her I was glad he was finally being brought to justice for the murders he committed. Some of the answer loons came over and attempted to debate a few of us, but it didn't last long. They just didn't have knowledge on their side. The rally only lasted about an hour and half and the looney left was worn out and decided to call it an evening. Overall, this operation was a huge success. Again we countered the looney left and made a great impact on the event. Here are some pics from the event.

Here are some pics of the group.

Here are some pics of the looney left.

Here are some of our signs.

This sign was funny. It reads "Iraq is liberated! No it's not in your name!!"

Here is the one it is a reference to.

Here is the overall crowd. Notice the low attendance. Notice also that there are NO American flags!!

This is a pic of SeenTheLight and SeenTheLights Mom (the two with the signs!)

Here is a pic of rogue yam. He's on the right (the right side of the pic I mean!!)

Here is the front of the shirt I made and wore to the protest. Channel 7 news zoomed in on it and then they showed a snip of the interview with me!!

Sorry about the small pics. I'll have to work on this image editor thing. Thank you all who came out. If I missed anything please post a reply. I didn't take down any names, so I might have missed a few of you. See ya all next time. Job well done.

Thanks for the pics.

Regarding the resizing and 'stuff' -- you should try a program like XAT.com's Image Optimizer. There is a trial version that you can try out and see how nice it will make your pics for posting.

Excellent work. Wish I could have been there.

I'm hoping to post my recent Freep of BillyJeff Clinton's booksigning in San Jose.

NOTE: Save your images as JPGs instead of BMP files. BMPs are notoriously large.

...and I didn't see coverage of either side on any of the other TV stations (didn't see the KGO-7 news broadcast)

WHAT an excellent idea! Next time if there is a protest in my neck of the woods, I'll make a sign supporting the dictator and mingle with the anti-american crowd! Hehehehhehehe, they'll love that! God bless W and the USA!

From Chicago IndyMedia (click here for the main page of their site) for those with strong stomachs, below are from leftists' reports for some action (maybe two different actions on the same day) in Chicago. I think that the photo one is from the ANSWER event, but I'm not sure.

Sixth photo on the photo thread is probably a FReeper (sign "Supports the Troops and What They're Dying for"), whereas the seventh photo is a leftist with an opposing sign, but with parts in common with the patriot's sign. One or the other of the two persons changed an opposing sign.

Taste of democracy goes down well with crowds-costs less

On June 30 2004, 200 people took a Taste of Democracy to the Taste of Chicago to protest the continued occupation of Iraq and Bush's war without end.

On Wednesday, June 30, 2004, the date originally planned for the turnover of Iraqi sovereignty, Chicagoans gathered to bring a Taste of Democracy to the Taste of Chicago. Despite the fact that Bush’s Iraq handler Paul Bremer “turned over” control to the Iraqi intern government on June 28 with a five minute speech and then fled in an armored helicopter, 200 people gathered at the plaza on Michigan and Congress to tell the public “mission not accomplished.

From San Francisco IndyMedia (click here for the main page of their site), here is the leftists' after-action report of this San Francisco event, which report also includes their photos:

Hundreds Gather to Protest Iraqi 'Sovereignty' by an sfimc photographer Wednesday June 30, 2004 at 10:26 PM [click here to see their photos]

Several hundred people rallied in Union Square early this evening and raised their voices against the transfer of power to the allegedly independent Iraqi government, whose prime minister was once on the CIA's payroll.

I can't open the photos. If anyone can tell me why that would be great. So they're saying "several hundred" were there? Right. 200 if they're lucky.

Their attempts at "discussion" were pathetic. They always ask stupid questions (supposedly to put you on the defensive) like, "how do you feel when thousands of people demonstrate when George Bush travels abroad?" Really good. We routed an idiot wearing a Palestinian hanky with facts and he ran back to his fellow losers.

Instead of burning a Palestinian flag, which would be too incendiary for Union Square, one Protest Warrior just stood on it. I like his style.
