-He planned attacks against the Panama Canal: State Security

One of the terrorists tied to the Al Qaeda network much sought by United States authorities was in the national territory for several days after planning attacks on the Panama Canal, Minister of Security Oscar Alvarez revealed yesterday.

The civil servant elaborated his statements, when referring that the possible presence of international terrorists is investigated, brought into the country by Mafias that deal with undocumented people.

"We can verify the presence of Middle East terrorists in our country", asserted Alvarez, then criticized that "many people do not believe or do not want to believe in their eagerness to keep Honduras like an island, isolated fropm the global world".

For this case, he detailed that one of the most ruthless terrorists of Al Qaida, identified as Adnan Guishair ale Shukri Jumah (38), who is also called Yafar Al Tayar, was seen in a "coffee net" of the capital, commanding/posting messages to its partisans.

"He is a man of Egyptian origin, that soon detected in Panama and here in Honduras in a coffee net to him", the minister pointed out, to indicate that Policia Internacional (INTERPOL) and the government of the United States corroborated their identity.

"According to teh groups of Intelligence, this one tried to put explosive devices in the Panama Canal to affect the traffic of boats in the zone", aimed.

Oscar Alvarez does not know the true objective of Adnan Guishair

Al Shukri Jumah in the country, but indicated that "Honduras has one of the most important ports of the Central American region and, therefore, we are alert so that the zones are not affected that improve the national economy".

"It is assumed that his high Al Qaida criminal was in Panama, trying to organize a criminal act and, later, he passed by our country, but already totally he was identified", assured.

RECRUITMENT "they are arriving in the country legally or illegaly, through the borders, mainly of Nicaragua, soon they infiltrate into the country to move like common and ordinary people in the sense that one can go away to the coffee net to communicate with other terrorists", he added.

He lamented that there have been recruiting young in the country, to place explosive devices in a place of Central America or the United States. "it is not that it is a forceful fact, but the information has been spilled by reliable informants, therefore we are working arduously in the investigations", indicated.

"these are not inventions of the minister of Security, I want the people to realize the possibility exists that our country is being used like platform of the international terrorists".

He indicated that by the head of the terrorist, authorities of international Intelligence offer the amount of five (5) million dollars.

"the international Middle East terrorists want to infiltrate terrorists into the United States and Central American region, or to attempt against the allies or such American", she said.

In this sense, the civil servant indicated that every day they make operative special of criminal intelligence to give with the whereabouts of that type of people.

"we do not want to bring anxiety to the Honduran people, but one does not discard that they are trying to commit terrorist acts in the country, in vista to the lent aid (?) to the nation of the United States", deduced.

Oscar Alvarez noted that the creation of an antiterrorist law is urgent that allows that the special and operating groups of justice, execute forceful actions against those delinquents.

"we are giving pursuit him to foreigners who are in the country in functions that we could see them like attempts form support battalions to sectors that would be interested in terrorist acts", he concluded.

It might say in the original spanish, I didn't want to go too far in touching up babelfish>

I'd be happy to delete this thread if a spanish speaker posted a better translation. Nevertheless, I thought it interesting information.

Drudge has more, including the answer to the "When?" question:

"Leonel Sauceda confirmed Security Minister Oscar Alvarez's comments to local media that the 38-year-old suspect -- identified as Adnan Guishar El Shukrijumah, or Jafar al-Tayar, who was in Honduras late last month -- "planned to plant explosives in the Panama Canal to hamper boat traffic in the area."

Alvarez's remarks were published in the daily La Tribuna on Wednesday, along with four photos of the suspect. International intelligence officials have offered a five-million-dollar reward for information leading to his capture.

Alvarez did not say when Shukrijumah entered or left the country, nor through which country he had traveled. But Sauceda said he was in Honduras on May 27. "

Any kerrorist in Hondouras was either going to or coming from somewhere else.

The Saudi/Iraqi/al-Qaeda kerrorists in that part of the world live/train/rest in Cuba. Fidelito has no other way to get back at us and, at the same time, makes some nice bucks doing so.

The move to and from Mexico is very simply and once in Mexico, with bribes to Fox and his thugs, it is an easy trip to the border and then into the US. Fidel helps the Muslim scum pick up a little Spanish and that, along with the matricula cards issued by Mexico, makes it easy for them to melt into the thousands of other criminals sneaking inton the US that day.

The guy in Houndouras was using an international air carrier to get him to some non-US city, maybe Canada, S. America or Europe.

I sure hope we are keeping good trck of all the traffic between Cuba and Mexico!

Since his new paymaster is Iran doesn't surprise me.

He gets big bucks to keep Chavez in power, and the Venezuelan oil pumps depressed.

I am not saying they could not get through, as we all know the vulnerabilities of our borders. But if they were picked up by the Border Patrol there is no way they could pass for a Mexican. Each alien is interviewed and processed before being removed and any agent with more than an hour on duty can easily spot someone from the ME.

It’s actually quite difficult for even an El Salvadorian or Guat to pass as a Mexican given that Mexicans act and speak quite differently from other Hispanics in central or south America.

Thanks for the post. America needs to awaken to the growing Islamic threat south of the border. I was slow to the news on this issue but it appears the intel community is watching the Tri-border area and for those that don't know intel was obtained there of pre-9/11 USA mainland attacks.
