Maybe we could subject Saddam to a "Today Show trial."
Judge Couric: "Saddam, you didn't have any Weapons of Mass Destruction, did you?"
Saddam: "Of course not, Madame Judge. Those sarin shells were planted by the CIA!"
Judge Lauer: "And Saddam, you didn't kill hundreds of thousands of your own people, did you?"
Saddam (blinking coyly): "No! Those were all victims of economic sanctions applied by the evil U.S.!"
Judge Couric: "And Saddam, you never gassed any Kurds, did you?"
Saddam: "That's all lies! The Turks did it at the direction of Nato to discredit me!"
Judge Lauer, voice rising in indignation: "And Saddam, isn't it true that the Reagan Administration ordered you to attack Iran?"
Saddam (suprised): "Uh, YES! Yeah, that's it! I was doing the bidding of the CIA!!
Both judges, leaping to their feet: "Bailiff, RELEASE THIS POOR MAN! He is a victim of that most evil terrorist, George Bush! And call the Florida Supreme Court, we need to overturn the interim government and restore him to power!"
I was watching CNN this morning (I had no choice I´m in Mexico) and Bill Hemmer was talking to the lawyer who defended Manuel Noriega. One of the questions he asked was " What does saddam´s attorney have to do to give him a fighting chance?" A fighting chance to do what?
