I'm sure the Hollywood people behind "Spider-man" are sad that their movie is going to squash the slob's movie. Economically they're glad, but politically they're disappointed, and probably ashamed.
Rush covered this in the last hour.
YAAAAAHAHAHAHAAAA!!! I love that pic!
I can't stand Michael Moron or his propaganda but when you look at the cost to make the film(6 mil) and marketing(10 mil) it is very successful.
Since your post, the movie has moved up to #187.
The movie averaged $27,558 per theater. Of the top 260 films of all time, only one had a better per-theater take, and that was the #1 movie of all time--Spiderman.
I hate to say it, but we need to accept the fact that people want to see this movie. Bush people, Kerry people, and Nader people alike all want to see this film. It's kind of like a train wreck--you just can't look away.
I think we should concentrate on debunking the ridiculous claims Moore has made in this crockumentary instead of denying that it has done well.
How about adjusting box office take for inflation to determine which films really took in more money on opening weekend?
Spiderman will win the next week and box-office will continue to drop for F911.
