The US will start to break up in 25 to 50 years. I applaud these folks for getting an early start.
All joking aside: a lot of us are sick of the current government, but right now our biggest enemies are outside of America, and we need a strong united America to combat them or they will destroy us all. The idea of seceding is interesting during peacetime, and before 9-11 I would have considered it something worth discussing. But when the howling hordes of Allah blow something up, believe me, you are going to want the whole US Armed Forces, not just the South Carolina militia, protecting you. United we stand; divided we fall.

No they aren't. They are just fed up citizens who are trying to get their country back. They aren't abandoning the country but actually planning to take America with them :')
Yep. We need to stay together and see this thru but IMO we also shouldn't let being afraid of losing be our moral compass.

South Carolina is nice, but I usually have better luck getting people to meet up in Vegas...

Well, I like the idea but I don't think it will really fly unless there is some sort of collapse cause by a very bad economy, atomic war, civil war or any other huge catastrophe to give it a huge push. I mean you'd basically need something that would crack up the world and the US to the point that the current political situation would end up losing power. Beyond that, I can't see this getting much traction although I do sympathize with them very much.
Maybe they could get Mullah Omar to give them some pointers on how to administrate a theocracy. Hey, then they could sponsor irregulars to help destroy buildings in the wicked United States!
