Christian Exodus ^

ChristianExodus.org is orchestrating the move of thousands of Christians to reacquire our Constitutional rights and, if necessary to attain these rights, dissolve our State's bond with the union.

I don't like the idea of splitting the nation up, but I'm interested in hearing what other freepers think of this.

Has this group really though things through? Perhaps they ought to read about the last time South Carolina tried to leave the union.

Don't take this personal, but this is pretty nutty.

Make that the last two times.

Maybe the third will be a charm.

And we need a western chapter in Idaho.

From the site:

THE PROBLEM

Christians have actively tried to return the United States to their moral foundations for more than 30 years. We now have a "Christian" president, a "Christian" attorney general, and a Republican Congress and Supreme Court. Yet consider this:

Abortion continues against the wishes of many States
Sodomite marriage is now legal in Massachusetts (and coming soon to a neighborhood near you)
Children who pray in public schools are subject to prosecution 1
Our schools continue to teach the discredited theory of Darwinian evolution
The Bible is still not welcome in schools except under unconstitutional FEDERAL guidelines
The 10 Commandments remain banned from public display Sodomy is now legal AND celebrated as "diversity" rather than condemned as perversion
Preaching Christianity will soon be outlawed as "hate speech" 1 2

Attempts at reform have proven futile. Future elections will not stop the above atrocities, but rather will exacerbate them and lead us down an even more deadly path.

The US will start to break up in 25 to 50 years. I applaud these folks for getting an early start.

I'm all in favor of self-government, but let's face it: this has been tried and our side was beaten to a little bloody pulp. We can be as proud as we want to but we'll be dead. They didn't let us leave and govern ourselves before, and they're not going to do it this time either. And this time they don't just have Sheridan, Sherman, and Grant; this time they have M1A2 Abrams tanks and F-16s and Daisy Cutters.

All joking aside: a lot of us are sick of the current government, but right now our biggest enemies are outside of America, and we need a strong united America to combat them or they will destroy us all. The idea of seceding is interesting during peacetime, and before 9-11 I would have considered it something worth discussing. But when the howling hordes of Allah blow something up, believe me, you are going to want the whole US Armed Forces, not just the South Carolina militia, protecting you. United we stand; divided we fall.

Just add Christian Flight to Right Flight, Anglo Flight, White Flight, etc. You can run but you can't hide.

They're stupid traitors.

No they aren't. They are just fed up citizens who are trying to get their country back. They aren't abandoning the country but actually planning to take America with them :')

Yep. We need to stay together and see this thru but IMO we also shouldn't let being afraid of losing be our moral compass.

South Carolina is nice, but I usually have better luck getting people to meet up in Vegas...

Just throwing it out there...

Well, I like the idea but I don't think it will really fly unless there is some sort of collapse cause by a very bad economy, atomic war, civil war or any other huge catastrophe to give it a huge push. I mean you'd basically need something that would crack up the world and the US to the point that the current political situation would end up losing power. Beyond that, I can't see this getting much traction although I do sympathize with them very much.

Maybe they could get Mullah Omar to give them some pointers on how to administrate a theocracy. Hey, then they could sponsor irregulars to help destroy buildings in the wicked United States!
