File: Iraq, al-Qaida cooperated in 1990s

Baghdad, Iraq, Jun. 25 (UPI) -- An apparently authentic document from Saddam Hussein's regime confirms cooperation between Iraq and Osama bin Laden, the New York Times reported Friday.

The Iraqi document, obtained by the newspaper several weeks ago and described by U.S. officials as genuine, describes contacts between Iraqi intelligence agents and bin Laden's al-Qaida when he was in Sudan in the mid-1990s.

Specifically, the documents describe Baghdad agreeing to an al-Qaida request to rebroadcast anti-Saudi sermons across Iraq.

Last week, the independent commission investigating the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington concluded contacts between Baghdad and al-Qaida had not demonstrated "a collaborative relationship" between the two parties. It is not known whether the commission had access to these documents.

RATS, being the masters of language manipulation have gone from there was no "contact" between Saddam and Al Qaida to there was no "connection" between them, to their latest "no collabartive relationship." Up next, "Saddam and Osama never sat down together to work out plans for attacking America."

Authenticating? Or holding off the unpleasant task of conceding...

I think we all know the answer.

But.. but.. Jamie GORElick said there wasn't any connection..
*grrrrrrrr*
That's one woman who needs a good application of brass bristle brushes to various and sundry pieces of her carcass.
If I need to elaborate why, then the person asking needs to look up "Jamie Gorelick"..

Thanks for the ping Mo1, sure as heck the press will try to squash this.

Thanks, MO...we are up to our elbows in painting again...doing the master bedroom and it is coming along nicely...next is the laundry room and then maybe the living room and then finally maybe we can attack the garage which seems to be able to house my van and the other half is sort of a dumping ground..I have ideas for the gagage but I need to win the lottery for the things I want to do..sort of make is a car showroom..nice cabinets, tile the floor with some sort of heavy duty tiles...got the idea from one of my hubbie's friends whose wife had more clothes than they had closets..so they fixed up the garage and it is really nice. But Ozzie would have to become organized with his tools,..Since Taco is a house cat..he cant blame kitty for his misplaced tools now LOL

Anything to make our president look bad, even to the point of lying. At least Putin tells the truth.

Yes, too bad so few people actually heard what he had to say. They buried that little pearl.
