American People Convinced of Saddam-al Qaida Link

While Big Media prattles endlessly about the leaked 9-11 Commission staff report that claims Saddam Hussein’s Iraq had no connection whatsoever to al Qaida (directly contradicted by Republican and Democrat Commissioners, by the way), the American people remain convinced the evil twins were in cahoots, at least at some level.

According to the latest survey conducted on behalf of ABC News/Washington Post and another conducted by Harris, both in the last week, Americans by significant margins believe the Bush administration over its many critics, like John Kerry.

According to the ABC News/Washington Post poll conducted between June 16th and June 20th, 62% of Americans believe Iraq “did provide direct support to the al Qaeda terrorist group” before the war, compared to only 33% who believe Iraq did not.

This wide gap is made all the more dramatic by the fact that the ABC News/Washington Post poll was disproportionately skewered in favor of Democrats.

Likewise, The Harris Poll – conducted between June 8th and June 15th -- finds that 69% of Americans are convinced of the connection, versus 22% who believe there was no connection at all.

This could mean bad news for putative Democrat nominee John Kerry who has staked a considerable amount of his own personal credibility on the leaked 9-11 Commission staff report by claiming the Bush administration ‘misled’ Americans about the connection.

In fact, a consensus of mainstream opinion within the media has come around to accept the probability that Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Hikmat Shakir, a member of the elite Fedayeen Saddam attending at least one 9-11 planning meeting held by al Qaida big wigs. Something the American people appear to need no convincing of.

9/11 commission also absolved Saudi Arabia. Lots of agendas will be satisfied via the Commission's report.

This inability to sell their lie must be driving the media absolutely insane.

Life used to be so good. Uncle Walter never had to overcome these "new media" upstarts and the internet.

No wonder Hillary wants "controls" over such unfiltered news sources.

The information isn't secret, people who want to know, know.

But I have to say that its time for Bush to make the case himself. One of the sticking points, when you are presenting the case to someone, is that if all of this is so, why isn't the president talking about it?

To say he's waiting until after the convention may be true, but its not a very satisfying answer.

The dems on CSPAN in after hours speeches in the House of Representatives are working themselves up into the same sort of lather we saw when they lied to cover Willie;s perjury. They known there was no connection and they know it because they said so. They present their claim as though it were absolute fact and belittle anyone who doesn't see the clear fact.

So emphatic are they that it is clear they are again covering some of Willie's lies. Their "no connection" position has to be as a counter to the "well, let's name a panel to invistigate." They don't want a panel (that they don't control) and why? Because their leaders know that any investigation of a possible Iraq/9-11 connection will prove that Wiullie to oil voucher cash (probably from Marc Rich) for letting Osama go the three times (that we know about) that Willie had OBL in his sights.

The dems are lying again to protect Willie!

For any who are deceived enough by the lapdog media that feels the need to defend Saddam at every turn and actually believes Saddam had no ties to Al Qaeda, they should pick up "The Connection: How Saddam's Collaboration With Al Qaeda Endangered America" by Stephen F. Hayes. This stunning book details in fascinating detail the evidence Saddam worked with AL Qaeda. More stunning is the chapter on how the media misrepresents this evidence, or ignores it all together. This is a must-read book.

I agree 100%. The Bush team needs to begin an all out barrage of media tours, op-eds, speaches, etc. Right now it's just Stephen Hayes and some bloggers. I just don't understand why the Bush admin backs down on some of this stuff.

..let's see al-qaida has been found in Iran, the Philippines,
Turkey,Afghanistan,Pakistan,Arabia,Qatar,Yemen,south Florida
Washington State, upstate New York,Boston,London,Spain,France,Germany,Bosnia,Kosivo, and are in among st us as we speak....

and we still argue and debate whether or not their in Iraq?

it's really a stupid argument and for the "commission" to justify ..by saying there's no hard evidence of collaboration...will go down in history as one of most asinine statements of all time

I am surprised that more people have not been looking into the practice of taqiyya or dissimulation in the Arab world on this. Please search these terms and see what you come up with. taqiya, kitman, taqiyya, arab dissimulation.

Evidence gathered could be/have been influenced by this practice.

Question: Why would Saddam have a painting showing his pleasure at 9/11 .. IF he was not a participant in it ..?? Maybe Saddam didn't plan it, organize it, or train the terrorists .. but he could easily have funded it, and provided a place for training as evidenced by the airline shell at Salmon Pak.
