This is NOT PC run amok. Yes, it used to be the accepted and recognized term in the medical community. The medical community also used to use leeches, force sterilization and perform lobotomies.
Your example of Iraq my be correct, but it is not germane to this argument.

Look, the whole brouhaha started because poster 'A' made a JOKE about Genghis Khan and the MONGOLS. Then poster 'B' gets their FEELINGS HURT, takes exception and goes on a continuing rant over the p.c. terminology.
Give it a rest.
