Good riddance to a corrupt politician. Republican or not. Who needs him.

John Rowland was a RINO... they all seem to be caught up in one misfortune or 'nother.

Rowland once had a fairly conservative voting record in the US House. But he turned RINOish when he moved into the Governor's Mansion.

There are no real Republicans in New England. They're practically indistinguishable from Democrats. Which is why Kerry will sweep the region this year.

The difference between Republicans and Democrats is that Republicans generally turn on their own for this. A corrupt Republican can count on zero grassroots support.

Yeah, Rowland and Ryan are toast and the joke is any one (apart from Reagan) in today's GOP has a short shelf life as a politician.

When their last name begins with an "R".

With the Democrats, the worse their scumbag, the faster they circle the wagons. Republicans, at least, have some sense of shame and decency and are not reluctant to take out the garbage.

"Rowland received cigars, champagne, a vintage Ford Mustang convertible, a canoe and free or discounted vacations from employees and friends - including some with state contracts. The FBI was even looking into whether Rowland skimmed money from low-stakes poker games he hosted."

My neighbor has a saying about politicians: "The first job qualification of a politician in America is that you must be a master at lying and deception."

Apparently this quality oozes out of both sides of the aisles in the Congress and Senate.

Another saying of my neighbor: "This country is so messed up with graft and corruption, why would anybody want to be president of it?"

I'm proud we kick out the dirtbags and say they're not welcome in our party. Good riddance.

His political career isn't over -- he can run in New Jersey on the "most ethical candidate in history" platform.

IF he was a dim, the press would have either ignored this or praised him!

I have noticed all the news stressing the REPUBLICAN .....

Sounds like little stuff to me - not enough to be concerned with. I'd be much more interested in ex-Presidents selling nuclear weapons secrets.

Yeah, lump in conservatives with RINOs. As far as the media is concerned, they're all right-wing extremists and enemies of The Republic.

Rowland was pretty conservative when he first ran. I wonder if a really conservative governor could survive in Connecticut.

On the whole I thought Rowland was pretty good, and certainly better than his predecessor. I imagine he'll probably be replaced by a flaming liberal Democrat in the next election unless we're very lucky.

Rowland is the essence of corruption bred from hubris.

But CT has been having a problem with corrupt politicians for some time now. Child molesters, thieves, we've got em all.
