This is long overdue for me. A tribute to our armed forces. Thank you, all. I do not consider your sacrifices in vain.

Thank you so much for pinging this to me. My hope is that 20 years from now this nation will look back on all our armed forces and give them the respect that is given to those who stormed the beaches of Normandy over 60 years ago and realize just what they have done for us. I do not think the American public realizes what is being done for them yet.

Thank you, kidkosmic1. Beautiful tribute, and website.

I am grateful for 'your timing' - and know many besides myself needed this encouragement today.

The troops continue doing good works across Iraq daily; the Iraqis who were brutalized by this enemy are still volunteering to fight for their own nation; and yesterday in Iraq, over 150,000 allied troops successfully completed dangerous missions, helped rebuild a nation, remove enemies (many unreported victories large and small) - on behalf of their four fallen 'brothers,' Marines, with common dreams, values - to fight evil, liberate the oppressed - love of freedom, friends, family, God...with uncommon courage, and faith.

That's the news from Iraq, bottom line, daily...for over a year.

The press has reverted to it's post-embeds lows - hyping the enemy, miscasting our troops as 'bad guys.'

Our fellow Americans are still buying the daily spin, though many have seen the light since last year - and they are supporting the troops. We could use help spreading the good news to our neighbors. It takes time, but does make a difference. Once someone sees, they are changed.

A missionary from Asia visited my church last weekend - with a heart on fire for the poor and unsaved - who repeated the talking points from "the church" - mischaracterizing our motives (greed), our works (endangering civilians), our troops (no need to repeat, the attitude of the church is beyond my understanding).

Why doesn't the church, missionaries of all people, understand the courage - the faith - it takes to stand up to this enemy - on foreign soil? Why - after years with Chaplains working among our Soldiers, sharing their stories, with military church 'family' members - doesn't the church yet understand that our faithful American troops are missionaries - Soldiers for God, light in the dark lands they serve - and do leave nations better than they found them, and have - throughout history?

Yes, this weak  Christian 'Soldier' did talk to our visiting missionary, and did my small best to share with him what our troops have been doing in Iraq over the past year, share that thousands of children who died each month under (and because of) Saddam live today because of our troops - that a nation in bondage is seeing the light in the example of honorable Soldiers who volunteer to risk their lives, and save the children of strangers on foreign soil. And faithful American Soldiers (and civilians) are sharing their faith - as Iraqis are seeing the light in them, and ask.

Thanks for providing another resource to help us share our good guys with our neighbors, in love.
