He must be a Republican! A crapweasel dem would never resign, he'd just put this behind him, move on and view it as a badge of courage.

couldn't happen to a nicer schmuck! I don't care if he IS a republican - he's bad news. I said so from the get-go.

bye-bye so-long farewell.

They didn't put the (R) in the first sentence. I'm amazed!

If he had switched to the Democrat party, the legislature and the Hartford Courant would have never mentioned the lies and gifts. No one would ever know.

And Rowland would remain in office.

I'm sound asleep each and every night
Now you're in jail, it’s OK write

Bye-bye, so long, farewell
Bye-bye, so long

See you in the slammer
Feed you peanuts through the bars
Here we are (bye, Rowland, goodbye)
Partying hard in your palace (bye, Rowland, goodbye)
All your corrupt malice (bye, Rowland bye, baby)
Is taking you away (bye, Rowland, goodbye)

Had a good time but it’s over
There is justice in the constitution state
Well I see you in the slammer
Or will you get an ankle boot
(counting the days 'til I'm done with you)
(counting the hours and the minutes, too)

Bye, Rowland, goodbye
Bye, Rowland, goodbye
Bye, Rowland, goodbye (bye-bye, so long, farewell)
Bye, Rowland, goodbye (bye-bye, so long)

There is justice in the constitution state
Well I see you in the slammer
Or will you get an ankle boot
(I'll be alert each and every night)
(Now that you're gone, its’ OK to write)

See you (bye-bye, so long, farewell)
In the slammer (bye-bye, so long, farewell)
I'm hopin' I'll
See you (bye-bye, so long, farewell)
In the slammer (bye-bye, so long, farewell)
Well, maybe I'll
See you (bye-bye, so long, farewell)
In the slammer (bye-bye, so long, farewell)

It is corrupt politicians like Rowland that sours my taste on what has become the Republican party. We have too many grifters locally (a couple of Republicans got a free trip to Vegas to the Venetian because the Venetian wants to build a casino here, for example).

you are correct, however just remember that the dems do far worse that never reaches the mainstream because they're protected. if a republican was anywhere near as bad as the average dem, they'd be hounded out of office in a new york minute.

GET HIM OUT OF THERE NOW!!!

Cashier him first-thing tomorrow morning and give him all that would be due to him through the end of the month BUT take the 'power of the pen' away from him as fast as possible - there's no way of knowing what he could do in the next week-plus. He could exec-order things that would make your head spin between now and then. With all the possible things he's capable of doing, he could tie-up the legislation for years trying to undo it all (not easy if he signs a lot of 'gimmie's').

Also, if he has a passport it should also be confiscated until all this matter is cleared up (_I_ think he's a definite risk-of-flight case - politically, he has nothing left to live for and could try to escape prosecution: he's DONE just about everything else).

(personally, I hope they're both found tomorrow morning with their heads in the oven)
