On the hustings, US Senator John F. Kerry has tried to put some distance between himself and Michael S. Dukakis, the 1988 Democratic presidential nominee, who was governor of Massachusetts when Kerry was lieutenant governor.
He is no Dukakis, Kerry has said, trying to avoid being tarred with the Massachusetts liberal label Republicans so firmly slapped on the former governor 16 years ago. Kerry has showcased his military service, his record as a prosecutor, and his centrist views.

Given the way the name Dukakis has been avoided by the Kerry campaign. I connect the two at every given opportunity.

John Kerry served as lieutenant governor under Michael Dukakis, because Dukakis was the STRONGER one of the pair.
Lieuenant governor is kind of like Vice President. You don't want someone smarter or better than you serving in that slot, if you are the Governor or President. By definition, then, Dukakis was probably a better administrator in every way than John Kerry could have been. Even today. And Kerry only spent two years in that job.
John Kerry does not have 20 years experience as Senator. He has, essentially, one year's experience, twenty times.

I live in Mass., and have seen absolutely no evidence of any such thing. The man's name hasn't even been mentioned by the media in years.
It's a made up statement.
In my book Kerry has always been the weak sister in Massachusetts politics; playing second fiddle to Teddy "Fat Boy" Kennedy and even "Pee Wee" Dukakis.
This experience will serve him well when he plays second fiddle to George W. Bush in November
