Saudi Official: Johnson's Body Not Yet Found

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Saudi TV broadcast pictures Saturday of four bloodied bodies of four suspected militants, including the Al Qaeda (search) chief in the kingdom, who were shot to death hours after killing an American contractor.

Saudi officials said Johnson's beheaded corpse still has not been found, contradicting earlier reports that it was dumped outside the capital, Riyadh.

The Al Qaeda cell allegedly led by Abdulaziz al-Muqran fulfilled its threat to kill engineer Paul M. Johnson Jr. (search), beheading him and showing grisly photos on the Internet on Friday. The slaying drew a chorus of condemnation from around the world, with even one of America's staunchest foes, Syria, calling it a "shameful crime."

Hours after Johnson's slaying, security forces at a roadblock intercepted al-Muqran and the other militants in their car, sparking a gunbattle that ended with the four being killed, Adel al-Jubeir (search), foreign affairs adviser to Crown Prince Abdullah, told reporters at the Saudi Embassy in Washington.

He said initial reports from Saudi officials that the militants were traced after a witness saw them dumping Johnson's body were incorrect.

Why was the State Department saying last night that his body had been found.

This is too weird. Yesterday, someone supposedly saw these barbarians dumping Paul Johnson's body. They got the plate number, and there was a shootout at a gas station. Where are these stories coming from? :/

Yes, they said they tracked down the car by the license number that the informant gave them, saying he saw them dump the body. Something doesn't pass the smell test here.

Initial reports were that somebody took the license number of the automobile that dumped the body.

Now there's no body.

More confusing and suspicious than ever.

I'm starting to wonder about the terrorist the Saudis say they killed, because al Qaeda is denying it.

They have published a picture of the killer's dead body, however , to prove it was he who they shot.

It's Saudi Arabia. Why in the world would I believe them? Because they're our friends? Yeah, right.

I didn't believe the gun battle story at all. Why would I, as I wouldn't believe any group of muslims any farther than I could throw them. The Saudi royal family probably has their underwear bunched up having placed themselves between terrorists and the United States. I wouldn't doubt for a moment that they would say they killed the terrorists (and hadn't even tried) just to try and calm things down - or to keep the terrorists safe.

Now I'm madder than ever. This is not turning into a very good weekend. My thoughts are murderous, and that makes me very unhappy. I guess it's good that I'm not in charge, because I just might lose it and "push the button" on the Saudis.

Rumors travel fast. I remember news reports on the morning of 9/11 that car bombs had gone off at the State Dept. in D.C.

Yes, it is too weird.

So if his body was not located due to someone spotting the murderers dumping him, it looks even more as if someone in the Saudi govt knew exactly where the devils were so they could be done away with themselves.

A dead Arab is proof? No offense, but they all pretty much look the same to me.
