June 17, 2004 -- WASHINGTON — One of the 9/11 terrorists was so love-struck that he nearly split the hijacking plot wide open by dropping out of it a month before it launched, according to dramatic new details unveiled yesterday. Ziad Jarrah, who piloted the plane that crashed in rural Pennsylvania, missed his Turkish girlfriend so much that he left America five times in 10 months to visit her in Germany.A little more than a month before Sept. 11, Jarrah apparently had a last-minute change of heart about dying for Osama bin Laden; his girlfriend bought him a one-way ticket home and he left Florida to see her following a heated argument with a fellow conspirator, who drove him to the airport.
"He was right on the verge of dropping out," 9/11 Commissioner Tim Roemer told the Post. "It looks like he got cold feet at the last minute."

no matter what the leftists say, solid marriages enable a nation to progress rapidly....
that is the main reason why governments should always encourage proper marriage...its for their own good.....
All of this stuff is being reported, but there isn't any information as to where the Commission got it from. Sources would be nice. Was it his girlfriend who talked about this? Who?

Well, they were human. I think this is very useful, as it shows what murderous fanaticism will do to a person. Here we have a stark choice: is it better to love and marry, or to give that up in order to murder thousands?
Such is the ghastly truth of Islamic fundamentalism: Horror is more important than anything else. This is in stark contrast to Christianity, where love and charity are paramount.
