a HUGE number of "liberal" democrats knew of his crimes and kept it quiet for many many years.

I think this is probably true, as well. The Democrats apparently have a very low threshhold for sexual perversion, especially when it comes to young people and children.

Now this morning it's reported that Special K emphatically denies any knowledge that Goldschmidt raped an 8th grade girl (my description: carries more impact than 14-year-old), but that he did hear a rumor that Goldschmidt fathered a child out of wedlock.

Maybe the Guv misunderstood the rumor as "fathered" instead of "bothered" a child, out of wedlock???
