Rachel Hunter Slams President Clinton (Praises Bush - "her idol")
WKKJ.com ^ | 06-08-04

Aging rocker Rod Stewart's ex-wife, Rachel Hunter, has controversially slammed former President Bill Clinton and praised President George W. Bush.

The New Zealander model - based in Los Angeles - is not eligible to vote in America's Presidential elections but is a fierce Republican and desperately wants to support her idol, Bush Junior.

Hunter explains, "If I could, I would vote for Bush. He has done what needed to be done because if Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden had their way, none of us would be around in 10 years.

"Clinton had a lot of tea parties with celebrities, but [right after] his term, somebody flew two planes into the Twin Towers. What do you want - somebody who keeps your children safe or somebody who throws nice tea parties?"

Uh, gee, that's a tough one!

Will Mrs. Clinton be baking cookies to serve with the tea? I just need a little more info before making this decision.

We get Rachel Hunter.

They have Helen Thomas.

We have Heather Locklear.

They have Margaret Cho.

We have Gabrielle Reilly.

They have Jeneanne Garofalo.

Is there a pattern here? :-)

While I agree with her assessment of the relative records of the two Presidents, from a political strategy point of view, I don't think we're going to get much sympathy from the average voter by hammering Clinton. In spite of his obvious character flaws and personal failings and being on the wrong side of almost every issue, Clinton was popular, for some strange reason, with the majority of voters in this country (based on his average approval ratings for his terms of office), and remains so today. Clinton isn't running and won't be the focus in this campaign. It will come down to a question of the majority of voters wanting Bush in or out. We need to emphasize the positive reasons to keep him in, and convince those undecided that this is the correct view.

I realize that Ms. Hunter didn't say anything opposed to these points, but its just another reminder to my fellow FR members where the real focus should be.

Well, let's see.....she's intelligent, she lives here, she's gainfully employed here, she's conservative, she's good looking (not a requirement but a nice-to-have), why can't she vote? Oh, right, she didn't sneak in illegally.

I think you add Kathy Ireland, also. I saw her on Sean's show and she seems to be very conservative.

Add another gorgeous blonde to the GOP Cheerleader Squad - right next to Ingraham, Olsen and Coulter.

Andyone got that ancient pic, perhaps?

It seems more and more silent celebrities are coming out of the corner to speak their minds about being conservative. We just rarely hear them, since the others are making so much noise.

For more of Ms. Hunter's fascinating, uh, "views," you should check Playboy from two or three months ago. I sure learned a lot.
