"It's my mess," Tony lamented to Dr. Melfi last night. 'All my choices were wrong."
Maybe so. But unlike the black bear he so often resembles, Tony finally figured out how to clean up after himself.
And, for once, David Chase and his writers didn't leave a lot of clutter lying around for the notoriously fickle beast that is the "Sopranos" fan base to sift through during the long, cold wait between seasons.

I can't wait for the next season. BRING IT OUT ON DVD ALREADY!!! ;-)
Dead on review.
AJ's delight at the party fight was a tad eerie.
10? They're not even doing 13? (And we'll probably have to wait two years.)
I enjoy the show but their production schedule leaves a lot to be desired. (Frankly, I'm surprised that HBO runs the episodes in succession, and doesn't release one a month instead.)
I would guess that the last season will contain the slow
entry of AJ into the family business. His character certainly isn't being displayed as a PhD or Mensa candidate.
I was thinking with his new proclivity for "event management" he might pick up Adrianna's bar, but he's too young for that.
Yet that party scene, with AJ cooly and firmly leading his pals against the gatecrashers - and taking pleasure in the inevitable fight - showed that he has Tony's DNA.

Next season films March-December 2005, airs March 2006.
I thought Tony would finally be in the clink in the finale...
I normally don't notice little mistakes, but last night one jumped out and made me laugh. When Tony and Carm were talking to AJ in his room, his shirt sleeves go from all the way down to rolled up and back to all the way down each time they show him.
That's not Tony's DNA...that's Tony's mom through and through.
Tony would have been busting heads.
I agree. As the scene developed, I thought that was what AJ was going to do (indicating that he was becoming more like his father), but it played out differently.
What happened to Janice [His sister, right?]?
"That stuff is liquid gold!"
What a stagmire.
Johnnie Sacks' arrest opens up new vistas for next yr. and he will likely lose power to Tony because of the weakening of his position. I don't think we have seen the last of him or Tony's problems with him.
I think Chase succeeded in showing how each Soprano family member has a bit of Tony in them: Carmella's love of money, Meadow's manipulative and controlling nature and AJ's apparent thirst for violence. But doesn't that describe alot of families? This is such an interesting show. I was a little disappointed yesterday. I just thought the finale would be better.
Yikes! Are you a Joisey FReeper?
Also, The whole "Tony is a General" thing with Tony watching a docu on Rommel, Paulie with the "general horse" painting and Sal mentioning that they were loyal soldiers...I started to think, didnt Rommel kill himself....maybe a prelude to Tonys fate?
This was a good season. I liked the reference to the Pie-O- My picture hanging on Paulies wall!!
That's Phil Leotardo.
