Kerry Remarks on "strengthening defense" (by cutting National Missile Defense)
US Newswire ^ | June 3, 2004 | John Kerry

Released by JohnKerry.com. Text of Kerry's remarks.

Yes, we must invest in missile defense. But not at the cost of other pressing priorities. We cannot afford to spend billions to deploy an unproven missile defense system. Not only is it not ready, but it's the wrong priority for a war on terror where the enemy strikes with a bomb in the back of a truck, or a vial of anthrax in a briefcase.

This is part of a larger problem. From day one, this Administration has been obsessed with threats from other states -- instead of opening their eyes to the perils of the new century: terrorist organizations with or without ties to rogue nations and failed states that can become their sanctuaries. These are the enemies our military is facing. And this is where we must train, arm, and equip our military to win.

And at the same time he wants to cut missile defense.

Did you know, that if N. Korea or Iran or anyone else for that matter would launch a nuclear missile at us, we have no way to intercept it, before it hits, there is nothing we can do, except "duck".

And Kerry wants to cut back ( and I bet he would cancel missile defense -- he did specifically said he wanted to cancel it in 1988)

We grassroots folks need to do everything we can to see that President Bush is reelected.

I go along with all of that when Kerry gives up his Secret Service protection, his security gates on his five mansions, his bullet-proof vehicles, etc.

Until then, shut your face, you traitor freak!

I agree. Vote, as if your life depended on it, because it does. And I don't say that lightly.

Well, you must understand he was against this before he was for it. By the way, did you know that he was in Vietnam?

Hey, look on the bright side. In two weeks he'll be damning Bush for not push missile defense more stridently.

Stick around long enough, and Kerry be on your side for the proverbial 15 minutes of 'fame' (more like shame).

Can't the leftists see what a jellyfish this guy is?

You bet he'd cancel it,in order to concentrate that money where he "thinks" it would better serve the nation. And WHAT that would be,is anyone's guess...but it most assuredly would be some moronic nonsense/giveaway program that wouldn't work.

John F*ckin' cares more about what the UN and Eurotrash think than what America needs to prevent another 9/11. Someone should tell him the planes that struck the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were manned missles. We didn't have a defense against them then. And we do now. Why he wants to eliminate a promising avenue to protect America from the threat of missle attacks from rogue states and terrorists is one of the big mysteries of the 21st century.

As strange as it sounds, it may be accurate to say that John Kerry is the most serious security threat facing America.

Let's hope he's not 'incoming' next January.

We need to write letters to the editor to reach senior citizens who are heavy voters. Senior citizens get their news from Dan Rather, but also read letters to editors.
