NJ High School hosts Gay Straight Alliance (GSA)Conference!
06.01.04

Posted on 06/01/2004 6:19:48 PM PDT by Coleus

I just got wind of this event and know it’s over.  I  want to let you know that an event like this did take place and that OUR (New Jersey Residents)  tax dollars helped pay for it.  Notice they did not name the guest speakers. The NJ DOE happily sent out announcements for this event.

You're invited to the First Annual PULSE GSA Conference!!!

PULSE, Hunterdon Central Regional High School's Gay-Straight Alliance, is holding a conference for members of Gay-Straight Alliances, other LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) students and their allies.   This conference will serve as a forum in which we can discuss current issues and build a community of like-minded students in New Jersey.

We plan on having guest speakers, food and fun; our workshops and discussion will focus on current issues and information about GSA's. The workshops will be about various topics such as what to do with a GSA, lessons that can be taught in classrooms about LGBT issues, battling homophobia in your school, and other topics. These workshops will provide information and resources as well as a place for open discussion and idea sharing.

Where: Hunterdon Central Regional High School Commons
When: Friday, May 28th, 2004 6:30PM

The agenda for the evening is as follows:
6:30- 7:00 - Registration
7:00-7:15 - Introductions, opening skit and guest speaker
7:15-7:45 - Breakout session 1- (workshops)
7:45-8:00 - Refreshments
8:00-8:15- Guest speaker
8:15-8:45- Breakout session 2- (workshops)
8:45-9:00 - Closing remarks and further discussion

Hunterdon Central Regional High School, 84 Route 31, Flemington, NJ 08822

The PULSE club would love to have you here and we look forward to
providing you and your organization with useful resources. You will walk away with
information, new ideas, and hopefully some new contacts.

This is so unacceptable.

And I thought it was unacceptable when my children's Private Catholic ELEMENTARY School hosted a professional wrestling group that was hosted by guests from the Howard Stern Show.

That didn't happen again for a fund raiser.

This is the county that is famous for insisting on pee tests for all kids involved in extracurricular activities, yet they think nothing of inviting all sorts of venereal disease upon their students when they involve themselves with homosexual indoctrination such as this travesty.

And New Jersey wants to regulate homeschooling. Yeah, right.

This must be contagious. At Wachung Regional High School they ALSO had this Gay Straight Alliance B.S..

Our daughter goes there on Saturday for her Mandarin class. All the Asians were laughing and rolling their eyes at this crap. They thought it was a joke and a disgusting one at that.

Forgot to add we have her in a private Christian school for her others subjects. This kind of crap is exactly why we don't want her attending a public school. This one course is all she takes at Wachung Regional High on Saturday. It's good for her. It's COMPETITIVE and kids WANT to learn. The Asian kids are like little machines.

She's just finishing up pres school but the foreign language class there has been an eye opener for her into the real world and she did very well.

I'm thankful that this and "gay dances" is not even a remote possibility at my daughters school. I have peace of mind. They are opposed to this crap and being a Christian school this is not acceptable under any circumstances.

Oh, I know what you're saying, but these aren't "gay dances." The GSA just pays for them (I don't know how they get their money...). The kids that go are most certainly not gay, well most of them...

I know some of you here at FR get really bent out of shape about the gay crap that has saturated American culture, but you have to look at the big picture. I look at it as a blip on the world's radar. As nauseating as it all is, it's merely a temporary fad and a 'fashionable' social phenomenon that will eventually fade away.

Man and woman is the history of mankind - has been and always will be - the basis of civilized society (and many uncivilized ones as well), the foundation of progress and prosperity.

I guess what I mean is this too shall pass. After the society-induced desire to be 'nonjudgemental' and 'sensitive' wears off, people will turn their backs on this gay BS and consign it to the ash heap of pathetic irrelevancy. It only seems horrific because we're living right smack in the middle of it and that's all you see in today's gay-obsessed media but you'll see....traditional values will come back in a big way.

Or am I just a delusional wine-besotted fool who's had too much to drink on this first day of June?

My kids' high school has about 3500 students. A student activity has to have a minimum of about 50 students for it to be a school-supported activity. Last year, the school's GSA was disbanded due to an inability to attract sufficient membership. They were one of a number of organizations to be so disbanded, so there was no basis for a claim of illegal discrimination. There just weren't enough kids in the school who were interested enough to keep it going.

This type of behavior is Satan personified-confusing and taking advantage of the youth who are confused and impressionable; there is a big effort underway to push his evil agenda.  GLSEN

Since the time of Sodom and Gomorrah this behavior has been known to be evil, there is nothing new about it nor is it a fad that will simply go away.  Just give me your youth and I will bury you without firing a bullet.

They have two campuses. The "new" one, built in the '70's, houses the freshmen and Sophmores. The old one, which includes the original building from the 1880's plus numerous accretions/add-ons, houses the Juniors and Seniors a few miles away. The various academic measurements done by the state consistently place it in the top 10% of Illinois high schools.

The principal of the last 10 years is retiring. He is highly thought of as having maintained or improved the school during his tenure, and is popular with the student body to boot. Interestingly enough, the man is black, in a school where the proportion of the student body that is black is about 1% or 2% and the Hispanic proportion is about 4%.

They've been around forever and always will be but what I meant was that their cultural dominance and all around pervasiveness is temporary.

Normal will out. Always has, always will be. Normal will always be he and she no matter what. It's biological, it's the human condition, it's reality.

Yes, I understand that but many young souls will still be lost in the meantime. And the normal people should be out there trying to stop and expose this corruption in the schools where reading, civics, geography, writing, math and Unrevisionist History should be taught instead of this homoerotica crap being promoted with our tax dollars.
