In defense of Mr. Honeycutt (although he seems to be doing fine in that regard himself!) it's only fair to note that firing under stress, with someone possibly shooting back, is a lot different than shooting paper targets at the range, and 10 hits out of 15 shots is pretty commendable.

OTOH, if he had say a .45, it wouldn't have been necessary for the reporter to add that the perp died.

Maybe he missed with the first 10 shots. In that case he would have bean DOA with a 45.
