TF Danger Soldiers Find Large Cache

KIRKUK, Iraq -
Task Force Danger Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment led explosive ordnance disposal teams to weapons cache near here May 29.

The EOD teams recovered more than 70 artillery and mortar rounds, 23 anti-tank munitions, an antipersonnel mine and three hand grenades. While the EOD team was at the site, an Iraqi child brought one SA-7 surface to air missile to the Soldiers.

The cache was taken to a Coalition base for destruction.

1st ID Soldiers Destroy Car Bomb

TIKRIT, Iraq -
1st Infantry Division Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment destroyed a car bomb near Samarra around 9:45 a.m. May 28.

The Soldiers found three 155mm rounds in the rear seat with batteries and a radio receiver hooked to the rounds.

1st ID Soldiers Wound Attacker

TIKRIT, Iraq -
1st Infantry Division Soldiers returned fire and wounded an attacker who had fired a rocket-propelled grenade at them around 11 p.m. May 28.

The attacker was transported to a Coalition medical facility and will be detained for questioning.

Iraqi Civil Defense Corps Finds Explosive Device

TIKRIT, Iraq -
Iraqi Civil Defense Corps soldiers turned in an improvised explosive device to members of 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment around 5 p.m. May 28.

The ICDC soldiers found the device, which consisted of four 152-artillery rounds, and two 250-pound bombs, near Hawija. Task Force Danger Soldiers secured the ordnance for destruction.

Iraqi Citizen Information Leads Soldiers to Cache

TIKRIT, Iraq -
Acting on information from an Iraqi citizen, Task Force Danger Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 252nd Armor Regiment found a cache near Kifri around 9 a.m. May 28.

The cache consisted of a machine gun, one 60mm mortar tube, 800 7.62mm rounds, 2,100 12.7mm rounds, 12 rocket-propelled grenades, and 23 60mm mortar rounds.

The cache was moved to a military holding area for later destruction.

Raid Nets Suspect, Large Amount of Cash

BAGHDAD, Iraq -
A man suspected of involvement in the slayings of Iraqi civilians and policemen was detained during an early morning search of his residence here by U.S. Soldiers May 22.

In addition to detaining the man, who is a suspected high-ranking party official in the Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution, Soldiers confiscated more than $150,000, six automatic rifles, four pistols, ammunition and four radios found inside his home.

The suspect was taken into Coalition custody for further questioning.

I hope they use those "Special Interrogation methods " on this guy!
