On the other hand, dating (and perhaps eventually marrying a Donkey) gives you the opportunity to "show them the light" and puts another vote in the "R" column come November.

I've always thought dating on the enemy side was more interesting and challenging. Been dating a Californian girl for 1/2 year now, and the wheels started falling off when her therapist convinced her that I wasn't 'nuanced' enough when it came to decisions. Yet, interestingly enough, since I'm from Texas, these open minded calis all know I'm a polluting, foolish Republican that prefers asphalt to wildflowers (yet they don't consider cattle natural) and that I must prefer cormorants to be soaked in spilled crude oil.
It's been interesting, but I don't think there are certain prejudices on either side that can be overcome.

I watched someone I know go from rock-solid conservative to squishy, guilt-ridden RINO after marrying a knee-jerk lib.
