A couple of years ago, I emailed the Hawaii Police department about an article I read back in the mid 1980's while on Guam. The article stated that many tourists on Hawaii would call Hawaii 5-0, a department that only existed on TV, instead of the HPD for emergencies. I was curious if that was still going on these days. They sent me back a nice email saying, yes people still call for 5-O thinking it's real.

They also told me that before he became an actor, Kam Fong (Chin Ho Kelly) was a real life HPD officer for sixteen years.
