Please explain:
I thought that the Democrats want to reduce fuel consumption.
Higher gasoline prices reduce gasoline consumption and force people to buy more fuel efficient cars. Higher prices make alternative energy more competitive.
So why are the Democrats complaining. I really don't think they know what they want.

The only thing, at this time, that high gas prices do is to increase the cost of every product that is bought and sold in this country because of our distribution system in this country. High gas prices will affect us all and make inflation not only a minor but a major concern. Our fuel consumption has not increased nearly the amount one would think based on the raising rates for fuel.
